Guest guest
Thanks for the update, . It's obviously been really tough to go through. I'm sure that is destined now for a delightful time. Maybe difficult at first, but surely worth it. Virg > Hi Everybody, > It is late, my wife, son and I just got back from philadelphia for > matthews implant surgery. It is finally behind us. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your beautiful report, . I'm sorry that (and his parents) had a difficult day today but equally happy to know that it is all behind him now. It's uphill from here. Your story about his young life and his experience with hearing loss was very special. I know just by reading this how much you have done for him and how much you will continue to do. It takes very strong and special parents to do the things you've done and to make the decisions you've had to make. You'll be blessed for your efforts and I have no doubts about that. Congratulations to you all! I feel honored that we were able to be a small part of 's journey. We're still here when you need us. Guest guest
Hi , I am so glad that the surgery for went okay and that you are all now back at home and focused on recovery. Activation will be the next step! Your account is very poignant as it's from a parent's perspective. It makes me appreciate how much my own mother and father must have worried about me when I was small. It sounds like you have a really close relationship with your son. I hope that happier times are just around the corner and you will look back on this difficult time as something that bonded you even closer. By the way I developed recruitment too after I experienced my sudden loss. It really makes wearing hearing aids unbearable. I wish people knew more about this condition because I used to get temporary bouts of recruitment at school after too many loud music lessons or exposure to loud noise generally. I never knew what it was until it happened permanently. Guest guest
Dear Rpbert: Thanks so much for taking time from what I know has been a highly emotional and exhausting day. It really touched my heart that you took time to share the positive ending. Now just relax and try to take it easy (along with ) while you all recover. Like you, my parents left no stone unturned in their quest to assure I had access to everything possible that might aid my hearing situation. I have always had a deep appreciation for all that they did for me, because in the end, it all helped me with my cochlear implant success. Some day, also will come to understand all you and your wife have gone thru to help him succeed in life. You are a special family for all you are doing for , and let that knowledge sustain you in the difficult times. It all will be worth it in the end, trust me. Keep us posted on his progress and we will all be here for you when you have the ups and downs of this journey. Guest guest
's message made me realize that, too. And also that you never know when somebody like , not posting, but reading everything is out there, and seeing all the brand war trash that gets posted that isn't helping anybody. From a person with an AB device; I am thrilled for and his new Freedom (pun intended). I hope will keep us posted on his progress. Something that can make a deaf child hear; seems so much more important than the tech specs of the various brands.
