Guest guest
, I can't understand that and have been in similar predicaments before I received my BrailleNote GPS. GPS systems *are* expensive! VR purchased mine because of my hearing loss so I could continue riding the bus and have a way of knowing where a cab driver was taking me when I took a cab to school. GPS systems are great for not only knowing where you are, but also catching dishonest cab drivers (thankfully many of them aren't!) who take a " different " route than expected and/or tell you there is a difference in mileage (which the BrailleNote GPS can also track). I'm glad you weren't hurt. It can be quite disconcerting when crossing the street and starting out at point A and ending up in a completely different place than you expected. Guest guest
Hi and , Does GPS stands for Global Positioning System? If yes, then what does it look like as I went to the website and it does not make sense, as it has engine, airoplane, etc. Is there a proper website for what you are talking about? Guest guest
Dolly, Yes you got it. This url will show you what has. It requires the Braille Note or Voice Note. http://www.humanware.com/Products/Notetakers/BrailleNoteGPS.asp Here is another one called Trekker, that is a stand alone, tho you can add on options. http://www.humanware.ca/web/en/p_DA_Trekker_wireless_GPS.asp# *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it? & Dreamer Doll (Guide Dawggie) Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/

Guest guest
At least you can go *outside* year round in Arizona. You can't do that when there's blizzard conditions or below zero temperatures. LOL! I deal with the heat much better than the cold. Temperatures in the triple digits? Bring it on! It sure beats temperatures in the teens or single digits! <grin> Left ear - Nucleus 24 Contour Advance with 3G Implanted: 12/22/04 Activated: 1/18/05 Right ear - Nucleus Freedom Implanted: 2/1/06 Activated: 3/1/

Ocean is on both side. I am on East side and love it. It is really nice during winter here. For the summer, It is hot but very breezy because of the oceans. It's great living here. I know Arizona is pretty hot because my cousin had lived there for few years before he had passed away. It is nothing to do with heat. It was his deadly illness.. Please, Try florida. Guest guest
, Is there a way for us blind folks to know the location of states and other countries? I liked how you described Arizona's location.
Guest guest
, I have a tactile map of the United States. I purchased it from APH. You might want to check their website for more information. APH has alot of interesting Braille materials including an atlas, tactile diagrams of the human body and a tactile globe. Guest guest
, Florida does sound wonderful! When I told my mother about my plans to move to Arizona (before she passed away), she said I should move to Florida instead because " it was much nicer than Arizona. " My parents used to vacation in the Orlando area and they absolutely loved it. In fact, they enjoyed it so much, they would have retired there if they had the money to do so. I have a friend who lives in Lakeland and he also loves it. He's lived there for about 10 years now. I'll definitely have to take a closer look at Florida. Are there any cities you can recommend that have decent public transportation? I'd like to move to the suburbs, but would like to be in close proximity to the city for future employment. Being close to a CI center is also a must.
