Guest guest
, An M3 phone would probably work but I am stubborn and will wait till the M4/T4 is available. It should work better. I currently have a nokia with Cingular and use the neck loop and hear fine with my t-coil switched on. I lone for the day I can place the phone up to my ear and hear good, that's why I have chose to wait for the M4/T4. Curtis from Ga. Guest guest
Curtis, what model Nokia do you have? I have a Nokia 6235 and it works really well (for me) held against my esprit 3G (and it is nice to have the option of the LPS-4 neck loop if needed) NZ Re: Nokia reply on M / T Level , An M3 phone would probably work but I am stubborn and will wait till the M4/T4 is available. Guest guest
, I have the Nokia 6010 and use the LPS-3 neck loop it has a 2.5mm connection. The LPS-4 connection to the phone is very fragile and hard to keep connected and it breaks often, I had the LPS-4 before. I can't use my phone without the loop when I place it to my CI it buzzes and I can't hear. My phone is over two years old. I am going to wait for the M4/T4 phone to come available. I don't believe Cingular will have one any time soon. I understand it may not be possible with their technology. Curtis from GA. Guest guest
Curtis, When is the M4/T4 phone supposed to be available. Am I right in thinking that's a technology that'll be available from other manufacturers besides Nokia? Thanks, e
Guest guest
As of September 2006, all manufacturers selling cell phones in the US must make 25% of their models bear a M and a T rating of at least 3. http://accesswireless.org/brochure/consumer_brochure.htm
Guest guest
Its about time something like this was introduced in Australia, too. Just trying to get information on hearing aid/C.I. compatible mobile phones, is a hopeless task. Guest guest
e and others on M4/T4 phones, It Findley happened here in Georgia USA, I went to the local Verizon store today and they have the M4/T4 phones. As you may remember I ordered three times on the web and received the M3 phones. I guess they were just using up old stock. I contacted the Internet sales dept. and they are sending me new phones and if they are M3 I can go to the store and swap them. I went back to the Internet because they had a deal, free activation and a free phone for my wife. I will get the LGVX 8300 and the Samsung SCH a870 both are M4/T4. And by the way I used one in the store and voice came in loud and clear. No more loop around the neck. Hooray! They should be available everywhere soon. Curtis from GA. Guest guest
Hey -- in the process of following 's advice on visiting the SHHH site for my captioning problem, I found a link for compatible cell phones! Here it is: http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/finder_results.php?m=s & w=s & sao=y & f66r=r & f66_3=y\ & f66_4=y or if that doesn't work, try the tiny url: http://tinyurl.com/vcrjn (Comcast was no help on the captioning issue. Told me it was the TV's fault. How can it be the TV's fault if captions from DVDs show up OK? I'm still researching that problem.) Guest guest
Lydia, You just narrowed the field down. The tv was eliminated. That leaves Comcast and/or the box. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* You are depriving some village of an idiot. & Dreamer Doll (Guide Dawggie) Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
Guest guest
Someone posted this in here, the other day: http://www.nokiaaccessibility.com/hac.html There are NINETEEN Nokia phones alone, that have varying states of compliance, so there are a lot more out there for you to choose from in the US. I am still searching for the same kind of information in Australia. Guest guest
I agree. I only found mine by accident really. Something should be done about it and I'm surprised that with the aging population producing more hearing impairment that there isn't more information. > > > > As of September 2006, all manufacturers selling cell phones in the US > > must make 25% of their models bear a M and a T rating of at least 3. > > > > http://accesswireless.org/brochure/consumer_brochure.htm > > >
Guest guest
Hello I think I have narrowed my mobile search down to either the Nokia 6233/6234, they are the same phone, but ones exclusive to Vodafone, or the one that you have with " 3 " the - LG U880. I want to listen to them both in store before I start shopping for one. I want to buy one, probably off eBay, because I dont want to be tied down by contracts or to one network. I want to be able to use any sim card. Did you know that most of " 3 " 's mobiles can be unlocked? " 3 " wont tell you that though :-). When you bought your phone, did anyone mention hearing aid or C.I. compatibility or did you just try them out in store? Guest guest
I have a Samsung SCH-a870 and it works great. If they have one in the store try it out. It is rated M4/T4. Connie " Ted F. Guest guest
I'm in Australia, Connie. We dont have Verizon and we have different phone models here. You have lots of choice " over there " . But 'Down Under', I cant even find any supportive information from any manufacturer anywhere. I'm sure there is something out there, its just knowing where to look. I would be happy to find any mobile phone that is rated M4/T4 " over here " , to try. Guest guest
Hello Eveyrone, Final word here from Gainesville, Ga. USA on M4/T4 phones. I received my two phones today from Verizon and activated them both one for me the LG VX8300 and one for my wife a Samsung SCH-a870 and both are rated Hearing Aid Compatibility M4/T4. They work real good with my CI and so far i'm real pleased. It's good to get rid of the loop. They should be available nation wide soon. Curtis from Ga.
