Guest guest
, Thanks! How could I not come back, with you here? And to make this CI related. we had a huge wind storm last night, winds gusting to over 70mph. More than once, I would go open the door and just listen to the fury of Mother Nature. It is not nice to fool Mother Nature! Guest guest
, That must have been so awesome to hear! Sounds like a perfect night for a mocha too! LOL! Your post reminded me of a spring evening last year when we had a severe thunderstorm with winds in excess of 50 mph. The winds were so strong that our power went out. I can still remember hearing the wind whistle as it rattled the windows. If the calendar didn't say it was May, I would have thought it was October 31st. LOL! Guest guest
, Its really a good place to hear the sounds of nature. Cant stand the crows but the seagulls sometimes add to the charm. Those crows are so annoying. Spring time brings the song birds out, so cool. When I first moved here in 1995, just weeks later we had a windstorm that beat all. Winds over 100mph. Didnt have the CI then but let me tell yuh, you stand outside and try to talk to anyone. You have to shout. LOL Wanna move here? *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* In democracy it's your vote that counts; in feudalism it's your Count who votes. & Dreamer Doll (Guide Dawggie) Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
Guest guest
, 100 mph? Wow! The most powerful winds we have had around here reached 75 mph. You asked if I'd like to move to Newport. Will you pay my expenses? LOL! Actually, I would *love* to live near the beach and wake up to the sound of the ocean! Oh, how I envy you! If I move anywhere, it's going to be somewhere in Arizona. I've lived in Wisconsin my entire life and have had more than my fair share of cold, wind, rain, sleet, snow and humidity. (Yes, it can get quite hot in Arizona, but it's a dry heat -- something I can tolerate better than 90+ degree temperatures with 90% humidity) Thanks, but no thanks. LOL! I think the only thing I would miss about Wisconsin would be the beautiful weather we have during the spring and autumn months. Oh yes, I almost forgot -- I'd also miss beer, brats and the rivalry between the Green Bay Packers/Chicago Bears. <grin> I definitely need to come to your neck of the woods sometime. Perhaps it would convince me to change my mind about Arizona (especially if I lived near the ocean!). <smile> Left ear - Nucleus 24 Contour Advance with 3G Implanted: 12/22/04 Activated: 1/18/05 Right ear - Nucleus Freedom Implanted: 2/1/06 Activated: 3/1/
Guest guest
, Yes, 100. And another storm is coming in, could get to 70mph too. But this is typical. Oh now I scared you off and you will move to Arizona. LOL Dont blame you for wanting a change of scenery. Arizona may be dry, depends on where you live tho. See yuh soon.... the ocean awaits you. Guest guest
, I'm considering moving to Mesa, Tempe or Tucson. From what I understand, Tucson is the driest of all 3 cities. Interestingly enough, when I visited Tucson back in 2001, a resident told me that Tucson has highest number of sunny days in the U.S. Too bad I can't take the state of Wisconsin and move it down south. LOL! I love it here for so many reasons, but the winter months get me down particularly because I haven't been able to go downhill skiing in a very long time. I used to love skiing, but I haven't done that since losing my hearing in 1995. Now that I have my CIs, I plan to ski again this season. I can't wait! If you can help me find an apartment near the ocean, I will be in Newport faster than you can say mocha. LOL!
