Guest guest
Hi Pam: I have a friend who has the Nucleus 22 - he was implanted in 1990. I do remember him disliking his 3G in the beginning, but he stuck with it and eventually enjoyed all the features and benefits of that processor over his body processor. I could ask him if he would be willing to email you if you would like. As with any mapping change, sometimes it takes quite awhile to get used to it. I think the advice you have been given by others - getting a new map is priority number one! You have been quite a long time without updating it. I am one who needs an update almost every six months now that I am bilateral. I wish you the best with this, and do keep us posted as to what you find out. Do come here for support on your " down " days - and NO - you were not RUDE! You asked for help and you are seeing our fellow members reaching out to you. Warmly - Carol in WI
Guest guest
Hey Carol, that would be great to hear from him...you can give him my email and he can write directly. Thank you. If you read any of my other postings today you will know that I am working on patience with this new processor. I was only totally deaf 7 months when I had my initial CI but had been losing my hearing over time. I think this transition is harder because I had my N22 when I walked in for the upgrade and for me I thought the sounds were perfect. Now my poor brain is being attacked with faster zaps:) and it is 14 years older. Thanks for writing.
