Guest guest
It is great that you can figure out the purpose of whisper,, I am curious though,, are you due for another mapping, if so, let your audie know. Lee
Guest guest
In the very beginning, I didn't like whisper either.. for me, it seemed to have no beneficial effects so I shelved that for a time.. Now, sometimes I will use it for watching tv if it's quiet in the house, otherwise it brings up all the other sounds to me too, and listening to a 2 yr old scream on a whisper setting isn't the most pleasant sound in the world..LOL The only way to find out what works best is to experiment.. if something doesn't sound good to you, doesn't necessarily mean it won't be of any use to you later on.. Once the ol brain adjusts, anything is possible. but, it's not a no no to use captioning either.. I know some normal hearing people who often use captioning. It's whatever works best for you though. Guest guest
-- If you find things clearer with the whisper setting and you want to use it at home for everyday use. THis could mean that you need to be remapped since you had a hard time with the TV movie and using the whisper setting is not your normal thing to do. Just food for thought here. This happened to me here. It turned out that I needed a map. -- Snoopy bilateral RI
Guest guest
Snoopy is right. The whisper setting brings up the T's for you so if you are seeing this as a solution for regular listening, you might want to make an appointment for a mapping and have your levels raised.
