Guest guest
Hello All, One year ago (and a day) Dr Rutledge started doing surgeries again. I was his first Statesville patient. It was amazing how easy the whole process has been. I have gone from a size 26 to a 8/10. I weighed 275lbs and I now weigh 146 (1 pound away from goal). I'm 5'8.5 " . I feel great, and I look great. I don't say that to be conceited, it's just a by product of this surgery. Before I knew about the MGB, I tried to make myself happy with the way I was. I knew I couldn't loose weight by any of the traditional methods, so I watched a few talk shows on overweight people who were happy with themselves and how society needs to change their attitude. What a bunch of crap. Society does need to change, but it is not a healthy way of life, and there is no way I could have ever felt as good at 275 as I do now. I was a spectator in my own life. Now I'm in the game. I'm able to go shopping without tears. I'm able to play with my dog. I'm able to go places with my daughter without feeling embarrassed for her to have such a fat mom. My husband, who has loved my no matter what my size has been, said the nicest thing to me last week. I had made a comment about what I looked like now and he said, " I never saw your weight. You were you then just as you are you now. " Those of you who have had people treat you different now that you are thin know how special that is. Hopefully I haven't rattled on too much. That's pretty much all I wanted to say. I will be at the Christmas party so I'm sure to see some of you there.
