Am I misinforming Pre-ops???

Someone please tell me if I am misinforming pre-ops. In the 5+ yr history

I've been around Dr R and CLOS, it was always my understanding that the MGB was

a " tool " to put us on a level playing field with " normal " people. To me, this

means still having to eat healthy and exercise.

I was contacted by a newcomer and their friend. The friend is a post-op Lap

Bander who recently had the MGB due to band failure. They are trying to

support the newcomer to have an MGB. The discussion got rather heated when I

mentioned having to select healthier food choices in order for any WLS to be

successful to reach goal and said that the MGB was merely a " tool " to help us

get

there.

This individual's response was, " Because he has told me repeatedly that

this, albeit not perfect, is a cure. Not a tool. My hunger with the MGB is

NOTHING like it was with the lap-band.... " .

I even researched our archives to make sure I wasn't making it up in my head

and found, in example, the following messages:

BUT, I may have missed something new...maybe?? Please let me know so I
