Guest guest
I don't think there is an insurance company anywhere that will pay for a procedure " up front " . They will agree to pay afterwards, maybe even in writing, but they will I don't think ever literally pay before the procedure and it is my understanding that CLOS requires the funds prior to the procedure. Many have taken out short term loans, etc. if they have agreement from their insurance company for payment. in GA > > Hey does anybody know how to get your insurance to pay up front so you > dont have to take out a loan? >
Guest guest
It is true that insurance companies do not pay up front and even if you have a predetermination letter from the insurance company saying they will pay after the surgery it is a major hassle to get back any of the money. Count on getting back about 65% of the money you prepay. And plan on it being about a year to get the money and be prepared to use the Insurance Commission to straighten it all out. I made it a parttime job to get my money back- I called two to three times a week and even when they threw the case to the fraud division I kept plugging all the holes they said were there and called the Insurance Commisions office twice to get all that I was supposed to get from the company. I felt lucky that I got 11,000 back- most don't get anything. But I had to fight for it and you might also. One of the reasons is that it is paid up front and is a package deal and insurance companies are not used to that sort of business- at least this is what they were telling me. It sends up a red flag and then it winds up under more scrutiny. Make sure you get a UB 92 BEFORE you leave the hospital. I did not get one and that threw them into a tizzy. I sent in all the bills and got the hospital records and sent them too but they were freaked that this wasn't proper procedure. If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield- they don't pay period and it is even on their form to apply- they rate you if you have had one. Good luck. My money did come in and I used it to pay for my tummy tuck and breast augmentation- it was time by then to do it! juliewmson <jwmson1@...> wrote: I don't think there is an insurance company anywhere that will pay for a procedure " up front " . Guest guest
I don't think any insurance company is going to pre-pay for a surgery that you haven't even had yet. It just doesn't work that way. Sorry. If you do take out a loan, make sure you have the money to pay it back even if the insurance denies payment post-op. My insurance company said I was covered and then denied the claim. We appealed it all the way up, and it was no use. Their final excuse was that the MGB is experimental. in NC bigtunamedic6969 <bigtunamedic6969@...> wrote: Hey does anybody know how to get your insurance to pay up front so you dont have to take out a loan? --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell?
