Guest guest
Today I got all my pre-op stuff done and I can honestly say I am a lot calmer. I think it was overwhelming at first having so much stuff to do. I had just gotten a new PCP doctor within the past year and this was only my third visit to him. I REALLY did not like the doctor I had seen in my two previous visits. This time I said can I see Dr. Shin another doctor in that network. He is the newest addition I guess. He walked in and said " So your getting a cochlear implant. You are in the best of hands. You have an excellant, excellant doctor. " (He said it twice!!) I was thinking ...I think I like this one.LOL He said my doctor teaches at the hospital and he had attended a seminar Dr. Arriaga was teaching. He also said I could not want for a better doctor. That made my day! After that I was really at ease. I got my physical, EKG, blood work and pneumonia shot there . Then I had to go to Pittsburgh to the Health Dept.to get the meningitis vaccine.I had an MRI and CatScan done already. So now I am READY!!!!!I think all that stuff they give you at your evaluation is nerve-racking but now that it's over I plan to sit back and enjoy the next 29 days. I also want to stay focused on what's ahead.
