I am so very thankful for this list. I have learned so much from so many of

you. I have been on digest for a while since my life has been so busy. I

always feel a little behind since I just get messages once or twice a day. I

just read about the list closing and then was happy to know that it was not

going to close. I was actually crying while reading the posts. This list has

given me so much knowledge and support; I cannot imagine not having it! When

was hearing the buzzing noise yesterday, I was very anxious to get

online and ask everyone about it. Fortunately, it stopped when we switched

programs, but I KNEW that all I had to do was ask and many of you would be there

to answer! I am so very sorry that you have to deal with the criticism. When

we were choosing brands, I never felt pressured by anyone, but was thankful for

all the comments and opinions of everyone. Indeed, I wanted to choose the AB

from the beginning because of the praise of the High Res software. The only

reason I considered the other brands was because my surgeon will not use AB. I

hope I did not offend anyone with our story of choosing a brand. I posted it

just to let others know how and what we decided. To all the moderators and

members, " Thank you! " for having the courage to continue despite the criticism.

Now, about ! Today we switched to program 3 already! I spent a long,

long time on the phone this morning (close to 2 hours) and during that time,

without telling me until afterwards, he turned off his HA so he could practice

using his implant! He is so eager to learn to use it! He is just beaming

today! He absolutely loves his CI! He thinks he must be a really lucky boy to

be able to get an implant! He was just trying to get the dog to bark to see

what he sounds like. Fortunately, he is not a barker! He also wants to hear

his baby sister cry because I have told him how some of you don't like the way

crying babies sound! This is so much fun! I am a very grateful mother! He

makes my job so much easier! Now if I could get my teenager to be that

grateful...hmmm.....that might take a few years! LOL I guess I need to join a

support group for parents of teens! If it could help me as much as has

helped me I wouldn't have a worry in the world!
