What I thought was bruising is actually a vein running through his

cheek. The first night he slept in the band he woke up with a red

mark on his cheek on that side and I thought he had bruising under

it. He must have really slept in the wrong position that night.

After the red spot faded, he's never gotten a pink or red mark there

again. He must have figured out not to sleep that way or maybe he

grew into the band some (wishful thinking although I do think I might

see a little correction already). Whew, sigh of relief, I didn't

want to make the 8 hours roundtrip in less than a week.
