Hi , Welcome to the board and best of luck on your surgery. What to take: This is something I didn't think of but if you'd like to bring a loofah on a handle it may help to get places that you may not be able to when sore. You are sorta bloated with the gas that they put in you, and from the swelling. I didn't take my shower till my second day and it was more like a sponge bath. You will have a shower that is a walk in and they have a chair you can sit in as well as a hand held shower head which is nice. I brought some bath soap from Bath and Body Shop...which I just love! You dont want to get the stitches too wet, so you can use a washcloth (which is provided, along with towels) or a loofah if you want to reach other places.

I brought some lotion as well cause my skin gets dry, chapstick for the lips, slippers so I didnt have to worry about putting on socks if I felt too swollen. Basically, I brought a small bath kit from Bath and Body that had lotion, bath soap, loofah, and body spray...just a little reminder of home. I also brought a heating pad but if you are travelling you may want to check out ThermaCare Pads that have adhesive but also warm up really quick and good for shoulder pains. GasX for later so you are not so bloated by the gas in tummy. Comfy PJ's, so you can walk around the hallway in comfort than having those gowns they give(which aren't bad and they dont show your bum). Some people have brought their own pillows, again you'll have to judge how much you want to pack. You may want to bring Unjury in small packets so you can mix with water or clear juice for something to have on the way home. Bring clothes that are going to be comfortable on the way home, if nothing else buy some really nice stretch pants so you don't have pressure on the stomach, especially if you are driving or going to be on a plane for some amount of time. Tee-shirts or blouses that are loose and comfy would be advisable as well.

I didn't experience any shoulder pains while I was there, I was sore but not to the point where it kept me in bed all day. I was out walking about 2 hrs after the surgery, but I am just that way....just remember to listen to your body, and not overdo anything.

I hope that helps you out, everyone will have other things to add to the list. I wish you the best of luck on the surgery and I'll be there on April 15th to get a fill...so maybe we will see each other. I have my photos on this board under Kelli.

Take Care!
