Guest guest
I need to learn more about healthy eating. Everyone says get the protein and I think OK- well, what can I eat with protein? No clue as I have never looked at food like that. I am worried about going out to eat with my family- what to order? If we stop at Mcs can I eat? Just those little things make me so nervous b/c when I do this I am going to do it right. Surgery is scheduled for November 10th so I am trying to learn what I need to now! Thank you! Guest guest
High . Get on line and educate yourself about protein, it definately helped me. This whole experience is going to be a learning one, that's for sure. Google high protein foods to get a better idea, but the best source of protein comes in the form of meat. Eggs, beans and soy are other sources. Although, for the first 2 weeks you can only have clear liquid protein. Then phase 2 you can have protein shakes. Go to your local health food store and you should be able to purchase what you need for the first month. As far as Mcs or any restuarant, you betcha. After you've healed and gone through all the phases, you can eat out. I haven't gotten to that point myself yet, but I'm guessing I'll be ordering off the appetizer menu or taking a big old doggie bag home. You should be able to eat most anything, just a lot less than before. People report that pizza (say it aint so), bread, rice, dry red meat and some other stuff can give you trouble. I think we each just have to try it and see how it goes. Next week is solid food for me so I will let you know how it goes. So far my experience has been smooth sailing. No pbing, a little slimming here and there, but happy to report no major problems. I love my band. I'm actually scheduled for my first fill on 11/10. If you are out of recovery before I leave, I will pop in to see you. Don't worry, everything will be just fine. And congratulations on making this important decision for a better life.
