Guest guest
Hey Y'all... Yesterday was Cade's hook up. (mom) said that he is doing very well. The audiologist turned on 12 electrodes for now but she will turn few on later next week or two. Cade responded to every sounds the audiologist made. He is wearing BWP right now and will not get BTE for few years because he is still little kid. told me one funny story. Cade couldn't walk yet so anyway the audiologist was holding the BWP and Cade kept grabbing the cord and cause the coil to fall off. The audiologist was getting the BWP ready for them to take home. Cade crawled toward and the audiologist didn't see him crawling to ward her and pulled the BWP out of her hand and start to crawl away dragging the BWP. said that she think Cade is on SPEAK right now and will remain on SPEAK for while. I finally found out what is wrong with my 3G! It is not 3G, it is the maps on 3G. The problems I experienced with 3G is from the way my audiologist widen the pulse widths. I will have to go back sometime this week or next week and get the maps adjusted. The reason I am doing very well with BWP because it has a much greater output than 3G. The audiologist from Cochlear said that I still have a problem with 3G, then one of audiologist will fly to Utah and see what s/he can do but my audiologist will have to try some suggestions that she has received from the audiologist at Cochlear. (sigh) What a lot of work I will have to go through to get a piece of plastic to work for me. Did I ever tell you guys about one of my friend Bridgette? If not, I will tell you about her. She is profound pre lingual deaf but she have more residual hearing than I do accord to the audiogram. She is 19 years old now. She used and still use sign language as primary communication method. She went and got herself evaulated for cochlear implant. The surgeon said that her condition is perfect for cochlear implant but the surgeon will not reccommend her getting cochlear implant. She can speak okay but it will require the normal hearing person a patience to understand her speech also her writing skill is not that wonderful. BUT the surgeon presented her name to the cochlear implant board and they have discussed both sides and haven't come to the decision yet. Bridgette will find out next week or two depend on the surgeon. I hope that the board and surgeon will make a right decision. I am neutral in that situation because I do understand both sides. I just hope that everything will work out soon. Jarom ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
