Guest guest
Sniper, Your screen name is very interesting. I wonder how you came up with that name. Indeed, many people will opt to wait for what they consider newer technology. Here again is a personal choice. Since the tecnology is very good now, I think an individual has to decide if they wish to hear now or wait. Certainly information on new technology is exciting. Think of all the users of all the older models and how they have paved the way for this newer technology. But also remember, these older users have been hearing and still hear for an extended period of time and I doubt that they are sorry that they didn't wait. CI technology will always be on the move until something even better comes along. That is exactly the same as all other technology - upgrade. improve and move on. Regarding the article. We've seen it before. As I said in a previous post, there is an investigation. According to law, the accused is innocent until proven guilty. If there is some corrective action that needs to take place, it will happen but likewise, if the charges are proven to be false, they will be removed. We'll all need to wait and see on this. Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that there are thousands of happy CI users who are hearing because of technology that was not available one generation ago. If you are a CI user, you have reaped the benefit of this yourself. I really don't know who you are as this is the first time we have seen you post. Your reasoning of clarifying things for seems to be somewhat shaded by your real intentions but you are correct in that the NRT was developed for the N24. NRT is designed to: a.. Confirm that the cochlear implant is effectively stimulating the hearing nerve fibers at the time of surgery b.. Facilitate the setting of threshold (T) and comfort © levels c.. Assist in creating an entire MAP d.. Provide information about the best stimulation rate for the individual e.. Help select which electrodes should be included in each individual's programs f.. Facilitate optimized hearing performance g.. Monitor hearing nerve responsiveness over time I believe that AB has developed a similar program which means that AB felt NRT was something that could help their users as well. was trying to help someone who has no access to the AB product and doesn't want Med-El. Let's try not to take pot shots in the future. There is definitely a very strong competition between brands and this good. Let's not make it a competition between brand users. While I'm at it, I may as well state that this message is meant for the entire group. Alice
