Guest guest
Hi First let me say welcome. As for your baby son's head I am glad to hear that yu are getting it checked out that is the next step. Is his head flat at the back or on the side. If his head is flat on the back may I suggest you try to get him to sleep on his sides - alternating at each sleep time. If his head is flat on the side try to get him to sleep on the other side. Also give him lots of tummy time when awake - that is as much as he will tolerate. I am sure that you are already doing that though. Six months old is not too late to get help, my daughter was just over 7 mths when we got her band and she has had it for nearly 3 weeks now. There are other babies (and their parents) in the group who got treatment older that 6 mths and have achieved great results. The main thing is that you are aware of what is happening. By the way where do you live? Also what is your name and your son's name? I am glad that you have found this group I am sure that you will find it a wonderful source of information and support just as I have. Guest guest
Hi Stefan I am not sure if helmet/band are available in the UK or not however I am pretty sure we have members of the group in England, Ireland and Scotland. All I can suggest to you is that when you do see the Dr. ask as many questions as you can and make sure you are happy and satisfied with the answers you are given. Alot of Dr's have the opinion that a babies head will round out on its own but it is very important for you to have a correct diagnosis for ph. We had to push quite hard to get where we are now and it was quite hard - we too were very worried. As I said this group is a valuable source of information - if you have questions about any of this feel free to ask as someone in here can probably answer you - even though we are not Dr's here we are parents and have been at the stage you are at now. The internet can be a great source of information to you if you look in the right places. There are some fantastic links on the group site that are really informative and will help you in asking the right questions. I actually wrote down the questions that I wanted to ask our Dr's so I wouldn't forget anything. I wish you good luck with ph and he is a very lucky little boy to have parents that obviously love him to bits. You will get there just trust your instincts regards nna Skye's mummy Brisbane Australia >From: kwiatks@... >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: Advise for 6 month year old who has not been >diagnosed - very worried parents >Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2001 11:34:38 -0000 > >Hi nna, >Thanks for the advise -yes we are trying to do what you say already. > >I'm in the UK and don't know if the band stuff is available here. >Baby name : ph >My name : Stefan > > > > Hi > > > > First let me say welcome.
