i am so sorry medicare denied a second CI ... not fair and not right

but again i can't stress enough how very important the WORDING for the

approval and just as important WHO

submits or signs for a request to approve bilateral as a person i

have no power

audies has a little but not much it is the doctors who medicare will

listen to most

if a doctor requests and a doctor words it very carefully and clearly then

there is a much greater chance of approval medicare routinely denies any

requests from individuals and

many professionals doctors have the power and again wording is the

key

Just keep on fighting it. You had different people who looked over your report

then had. Sometime you have to continue to resubmit the paperwork. It may

take 2 or 3 tries.

Telecoil and microphone together… Yuk. On my hearing aids, I have Telecoil /

Telecoil-Microphone / Microphone switch. I hate the Telecoil-microphone one. I

don’t use it at all. I guess it what an individual choice.

Good luck !

It appears to be a regional anomaly. Right now I want to check out this

" regional " attitude before I proceed.

When I briefly tried a cell phone a few weeks ago, I found I could not

hear my voice. It has no side tone. So a mix can bne helpful then. Its

really strange to speak and not hear yourself.

I'm sorry Medicare denied your request for another CI. <sigh> Did your audi

stress the importance of bilateral CIs in your case given blindness for

sound localization, increased safety while traveling, etc.? If he didn't --

and you decide to appeal this decision, perhaps your audi could emphasize

how important bilateral CIs are for you. Who knows? It just might make a

difference. I hope so.

In the meantime, here's a peppermint mocha to help you feel better. :)

I think this will be my plan at this time, to query my audie about how

he presented my request then go to the next stage. I also think showing

that others like me have indeed been approved will help push him to redo the

request. I would like to hear more about that person who was approved.

Hey now wait a minute! Two left feet? ()looks down....nope, aint no

two left, they two right feet!) Now get it right ! And just so you

know, I will dance with you any day. (raises eyebrows....he will? go on

now, he doesnt bite!)

I think you're on the right track by seeking an advocate (hopefully

one that knows the " science " of the reports). I also think Alice is

right too. Bottom line.....Keep On Fighting! I'd also find out who

the legislators are in your state who are supportive of disablity

groups, etc. Do you have an ombudsman in your state? They can help

get through red tape when others can't seem to do it.

Good Luck,

Hey .....request copies of all correspondence between your

audie's office and the Medicare offices. Keep track of everything as

you'll need to document at some point what has been done. (Sorry if

I sound like I'm issuing orders....not trying to do that.)
