Guest guest
I also suffered from an extremely low level of vitamin D. I was also low for B12 as well. I do believe the mechanism of absorption is different for both of this vitamins. Just being out in the sun for 15 minutes daily has been able to maintain the vitamin D for almost 2 years after the initial dosage of medications. What bugs me is that if I'm not absorbing the D, what else am I not absorbing? I'm gluten- free and just went through controlling a systemic yeast infection, so I don't know what else I can do to heal my " gut. " Any comments? Guest guest
for some reason, vit. D supplements, give me more muscle problems! I cannot take calcium or magnesium either. Now, these 3 go together and need to be in dosages that compliment one another to be effective. For me, these supplements tighten the muscles right up and cause soreness. So, be careful with supplements and keep track of how you feel while taking them. I wish there was an answer to this problem for me. I get my magnesium through food and epsom salts baths. Just possibly, it is a mitochondria problem as this is where these supplements are used to make fuel. Guest guest
I had the same problem and I to was prescribed the same dosage which I am currently taking. My levels are perfect now. You might also want to take an extra amount per day. I take 2000IU per day on top off the 1200IU that I get from the multi-vitamins that I take everyday. It seems like I will always have to take high dosages. Once my doctor reduced my intake and my levels drop until I went back to what I was taking. I also drink a large amount of milk per week. Sierra From: ann.bakken <ann.bakken@...> Subject: Vitamin D deficient Date: Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 9:03 PM The only thing wrong with my 6 month labs was my vitamin D - I've been prescribed 50,000 IU 2 x per week. Anyone have any comment on this? My level was " 9 " . I had been on a 2000 ui supliment along with the standard 3x per day multivitamin.
