Guest guest
Marci, Don't feel that way at all! I know you guys don't look down on cranio moms and I really hope most don't! I just think that sometimes people that lightly research about cranio and see that surgery is done don't know all the details into why we choose to go through with the surgery. Its not just for the looks and some cranio is mild but like I told Kelli it gets worse as the child goes through growth spurts. We have had some mom's opt out of surgery when their child was diagnosed with cranio. That was there personal choice and what they felt was right for their child. I just hope when someone is reading about that surgery and thinking " thank God my child has plagio and I would never do that to my child. " That they realize their is a lot of emotion that goes into such a huge surgery and their is a mom who had months of worrying about their own childs well being before the surgery happened. I know that a lot of mom's here realize its not purly cosmetic and understand that I didn't mean what I said as an attack. Im sorry if it came off that way....I just hope that everyone realizes we all do what we think is right for our own child. Its not a simple surgery like getting tubes in her ears, its a decision that involves a ton of emotion and a ton of self doubt. Its a decision that I hope non of you here are ever faced with. Sorry if it sounded like an attack it wasn't. On the brighter side of things: ONE MORE MONTH UNTIL GRADUATION!!!!!!!(Leigha's that is) We just got back from the DOC band adjustment for Leigha and he thinks that she'll be done with her helmet in a month! That is unless the surgeon wants her in longer. He says her head looks wonderful and that its rounding out nicely. She's only had a inch of growth but he thinks that is because they don't have measurements from before surgery...I must remember to ask Leigha's surgeon about what her head measured before and after surgery for camparison. I can't believe we only have a month to go....its kind of bitter sweet although I can't wait untill I don't have to go every two weeks for adjustments I am going to miss the staff at Rehab Designs, and although I won't hate how smelly and sweaty her head gets I am going to miss the added protection and the decorating it. So now I celebrate and begin to get ready for that dreaded exit casting(she was hard enough to hold down the first time. now she is going to be 4 months older and that much stronger!) Fun fun day. I also have got to figure out how I want her band decorated for the last month in it. I am thinking of something permanent now since we won't be changing it again. Well had to share my wonderful news with you hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Saturday is officially 3 months in the band!!!!
