My 3G came with a little plastic case with a built in drying

mechanism and the electric Dry and Store box. My audi said something

about the little plastic case doesn't work well, so Cochlear added

the Dry and Store to the package. Sometimes I go places with no

electricity. What's the story on the little plastic drying case?

Will it work for a week or so if you come home and dry out the CI

afteward or is it totally useless? Or did Dry and Store just score

a marketing coup here?

I don't know..... I forget, when were you implanted? It is my understanding

that dry-n-store started given out sometime late last summer by Cochlear as

part of " welcome wagon " . I dont know about other company.

, I go backpacking sometimes and I'm planning an 8 or 9 day

Thanks for responding to my post on dry and store. I have looked at

my unit and it is the global dry and store and does say it's good for

travel. My main concern is the bulb inside the unit. It seems so

fragile. I've thought about wrapping or stuffing the inside with

bubble wrap to protect the bulb against damage and might try this to

see how it works. Sharon, did you somehow damage the cord while

traveling? I haven't looked to see if the cord can be disconnected

easily, but will certainly take a moment to study it and see how it's

put together.

Thanks all,

Dixie
