When I did the exercise with my daughter, I didn¹t have access to the manual and did it from memory and intuition. When I said to cut the cords with scissors, she sounded rather perplexed. So I said, Œor you could use an axe if the cords are too big, like the size of a tree trunk¹, and she burst out laughing, the first laugh in several days! Her cord stump shrivelled back up, but the other half didn¹t want to shrivel up back inside him so she let it just fall into the rubbish bin and she (and surrogately he) was happy with that. Dayu has updated the manual significantly. The current version is around 100 pages in length and contains bits of all sorts of gems that she uses in her work. I printed mine out and bound it into a booklet.
