Re: Insensitive Comments (My Two Cents)

As I am doing my thesis, I have come accross some interesting

articles about the sensitivity issue we all have faced due to

society's unrelenting discrimination and stigmatization towards

those who are obese. Obesity, is determined by BMI and let me tell

you it doesn't take much to be considered obese.

Anywho, we have to realize that we have our nerves exposed from time

to time, and perhaps when one is stating something that is entirely

how they are feeling at the time, we may take offense. We have to

remember that in general, obese people face alot the same crap day

in and day out, eventually despite our efforts to stuff these

feelings, they tend to leak out in ways we are not often aware.

Please when reading posts, this is our way of expressing ourselves

within the confines of those who understand our pain...therefore, we

should recognize that " we " are not intending purposely to hurt one

another, and if so, many here would agree that they never intended

to hurt someone.

The ability to " Speak " freely is why this board is so popular. Let's

us speak freely how we feel, express our emotions as we have them

pent up and let us support one another without bashing because of

misunderstandings. This group has alot of different individuals,

personalities, cultures and experiences being obese....it's our

privledge to speak freely, and an honor to support one another.

There's my two cents....I hope and pray everyone here will continue

to speak as they feel, be considerate of others in when perhaps a

miscommunication has arisen.

Take Care of Yourself and Each Other!!!
