Guest guest
Hi all, I just thought I would share with you. I took Livia in for an adjustment on Monday. They did not do one. She said she did not need one yet as the last one was so big. At the time, she had a pink spot on her forehead. At bath time on wednesday night, the pink spot was still there. It was not too bad, so we put her helmet back on to sleep in. In the morning when I removed the helmet to get her dressed, It was violently red! I left the helmet off and called the clinic. They let me bring her in yesterday afternoon.(Thats where I saw the other DOC babies) By the time we got there, she had been out of the helmet for about 5 hours and the spot was still pink. We put the helmet on in the waiting room as suggested and within a half hour it was bright red again. Our tech did an adjustment on the back of the helmet, and said to let her sleep with it off for a night. When she woke this morning, the spot is still pink. I put the helmet back on after breakfast and her spot is getting red again. She has room in the back for growth(so much that the helmet is very loose) yet it is as if it is too small for her in the forehead area. Also the ridge on the side of her head is still very prominant. The tech thinks the helmet is getting too small, even though she has lots of room in the back. Has anybody ever experienced this? We are told that we can have her cast for her second band as early as next week if they can't resolve the red spot. I would have liked her to see this band through to the 16 week mark. She has only 3 1/2 weeks to go! Why can't they shave out the front forehead area instead? She must have a stubborn brain! it seems to want to grow in the spot that is the most work! (she must get that from her father! LOL) We have never had any problems with red spots beyond the fist few days. It seems odd that she would develop them now. She is napping now in her band and if the spot is bright red again when she wakes, then off I go to the clinic again! It will be the third time this week. It just seems so wrong that the band is supposed to be too small, when it is flopping around on her head! I can almost put my little finger between the band and her head in the shaved out area in the back! There is sooo much room back there! Do any of you know what the deal is with this? On the plus side, we have a pretty good chance of getting a second band (sorry Kendra, I can see the smoke shooting out your ears! LOL) If they say no after all of this, I will throw myself on the floor and have a real twoish temper tantrum!(not like it would help) Anyways, this is getting long..... Any advice out there?
