A question for CART/ typwell typists users and other too. :-)

I don't know where to begin... Well... Okay, I will start from the

beginning.

I am or should I say I was using CART and Typewell typist for my classes

but half of CART and typists quitted last month so my college is going

crazy to find the replacements. Half of hearing impairment students at my

college don't use interpreters so they rely on CART or typewell... So I

went weeks without either of those and I am doing very well with my

implant.. (THANK GOD!) Anyway, two weeks ago the director for deaf asked

me if I am interested to do little CART and typewell and I declined at

the first because I don't think it is fair for the deaf clients to have

deaf typist. She challenged me to take basic course of how to do CART and

Typewell so I did because the school is paying for whole thing... I was

put to the test by doing some classes that are not very tough like

Physic, Astronomy, and stuff like that. The classes I did are like

English, Reading, History, and basic Math. I did 6 classes and I did

CART for 4 classes and 2 classes with typewell. I did those once and told

the director that I have completed what she want and inquired her why she

want me to do that. Few clients have talked to the director and asked for

me to do their classes for the rest of semester. I am supposed to give

the answer to the director by Friday if I accept the job or not. What do

you guys think I should do?

CART is not very easy job because I have to type every words at fast

speed. I have to use many shorthand symbols. I also have to use that

small keyboard with 12 keys also few keys for symbols. I just sit in the

back and the wire are connected to the laptop that the client would have

at his desk to the keyboard that I use...

Typewell is kind of difficult but more simpler because I just use the

laptop and the client have the laptop... They are not connected by any

wire so it is wireless... I don't have to type the whole information just

important informations. I will have a partner to do half classtime with

me because when I type for long period using laptop my arms usually hurt.
