Guest guest
, If the red spots are fading within an hour then you are OK. If you have a concern about the fit then you should contact your ortho immediately. It is there job to be there for you when you have a question or concern about the product. As far as the extra, I would not attribute that to the helmet at all. I would say perhaps she is hitting a growth spurt, which would be a very good thing with the helmet! Or maybe since she is a little more restless at night with the moving around she just needs a little extra time to snooze. I just don't think it could be helmet related. However, if that is a real concern of yours then definately mention it to your ortho. Please do call your ortho if for no other reason then for you own peace of mind. Try to get in to see him/her as soon as possible so he/she can see what you are talking about and then offer a solution. Keep us posted. Guest guest
My daughter just got her helmet last week. It is a locally made helmet that covers her entire head and goes down pretty low on her forhead along with side burns. It doesn't seem like it is all that tight yet, except for her forehead. When I take it off there are red marks right above her eyebrows. It seems like a different spot each time I take it off. The red marks have lasted for 30 min or more and then fade. I have a question about the red marks and how you can tell if the helmet is too tight, but I have a more serious concern. The last two days she has been sleeping way more than she ever has. She usually sleeps about 9 hours at night and the last two nights she slept 13 hours. She tosses and turns all night long but seems to be asleep when she does this. She also took 3 hour naps both yesterday and today. This baby doesn't sleep but 30 min to maybe max 1 hour naps since she was 2 months old. She is 7 1/2 mos old now. Do you think that the helmet might be too tight and somehow causing her to be more sleepy? Or do you think this is a coincidence? I am so afraid that this helmet might be too tight on her forehead.
