Guest guest
Hi Alice: I just read your message posted to the couple who had such a successful CI hock up. I believe they attend my Center in Los Angeles. Anyway, I wrote them to congratulate them as well and ask if they attended my center? I am almost a nervous reck, because the center told me, " Hay, surgery? OK, but no big deal. " However, all day long, " You will be dizzy, you will hurt, you will need to spend a few nights sleeping in your reclining chair and you can't at all be a lone for a few days. " Well, now I'm a reck again, because I had decided to go in, let them knock me out, do their thing, send me home I hope the next day. My MD put 2 day hospital stay. So the next day would be day 2 wouldn't it be? Anyway, really eager to get the show on the road, because hearing date is September 5th and that is the golden carrot. I can hardly wait. Again, thanks for being so good to me, also I really did like your post you just did. Later: Felicity:
Guest guest
I usually recommend a recliner to anyone coming home from CI surgery for about a week. The next best thing would be lot's of pillows. Having the head upright is more comfortable and seems to help with the dizziness too. If they gave you a two night stay, it sounds to me as if you are going home on Friday since your surgery is Wednesday. Just take it very easy when you go home - move extremely slow in everything you do. It's the best way. Some of us notice that we actually feel worse on the 3rd or 4th day so remember that you need to treat yourself to lots of TLC and you should be just fine. I know four weeks seems like a long time but you wouldn't want to do it any faster than your doctor recommends and risk infection. The " golden carrot " is within your reach now. We are all here for you. Alice
