way to go lee on the pay phone!!... i havent tried it with ci yet, although

i remember trying to use pay phone once in emergency because the blue tip on

end of phone where the cord starts was supposed to help hearing aid users. but

not work for me.

like you i was totally confused how to do it , it wasnt like in the movies

where you put money in first and then dial and talk ... and funny how hearing

people expect everyone to know how to use pay phone, even thos born deaf who

have never used a phone. i think it has changed from twenty years ago too...

may be u should give us a quick lesson here on forum?

I wish i could, my advice, READ THE DIRECTION. Most payphones are privately

owned nowaday.

I talked to a hearing friend of mine, she uses it alot. Here is what she had

told me, depending on payphone,,,,,,,

-- some do not have dial tone, if there is, it very quiet (that i found out)

-- some have volume control, many don't (i wonder if private payphone are

exempted from ADA)

-- some phone have pay per so many minutes, if you are still new at hearing,

you may want to pay too much rather than being interupted by operator asking

you to pay more, which you may or may not understand

I guess that about it.

Lesson over,,,,,,,
