Guest guest
My 6 year old had tubes put in a year ago. Recently the ENT wanted to remove the tubes because the right ear did not look right to him. He put her to sleep and removed the tubes in both ears with intent to simply patch the holes left in the ear drum. He informed us that he could not patch either ear because both ears had cholesteoma growth. The right was worse than the left. He cleaned both ears out and removed what he could of the cholesteoma from both ears and left the holes open. We just went for follow up and he thinks the left ear will heal on its own. However, the right ear is now requiring an ear drum reconstruction. He needs to put her to sleep and see what is going on with a microscope under general anesthesia. After that surgery he recommends a second look surgery as well. I am scared to death. Any tips, advice would be appreciated.
