Guest guest
havent' got a clue sory, I use medel - the short array - cos of ossificarion diana chang <diaskci@...> wrote:I have a very important to ask some of you. Do any of you know the width/diameter of Nucleus 24 Contour? How about AB's electrode? From what I asked, the array of N24 Contour and AB's length are the same. But I would like to know the diameter/width of Nucleus and Advanced Bionics. Hope you guys know. I am aware that Nucleus have more than one type of electrode arrays (N24C, N24M, N24K, double Array). I know Medel has 3, which are short, split, and standard. But does any of you know which Nucleus array is the shortest and thinniest? Cuz my surgeon said Nuke device is better for me cuz it's smallest one. I'm just trying to get the exact size and etc.. thanks, di
Guest guest
As far as I know, the difference in the lengths of the electrode arrays of all three companies is negligible. My personal opinion is that the number of channels is more important. In any case, the Nucleus has had the thinner receiver - the part that is seated on the skull. Guest guest
I was implanted with Nucleus softtip yesterday and my audiologist said nucleus was the thinnest and therefore less whole needed to be made in cochlea. However, Med El's is supposedly longer and can get you higher pitches. But I wanted less trauma to my cochlea Also he said the actual implant was smaller and thought that it would be better because I am small (5'2) and have a small head. He said it might not give me as big of a lump. (Of course he told this to me after I made the decision, he just was reassuring my decision) . They don't like to sway your opinion. diana chang <diaskci@...> wrote:I have a very important to ask some of you. Do any of you know the width/diameter of Nucleus 24 Contour? Guest guest
Which Nucleus array are you reffering to? di > As far as I know, the difference in the lengths of the electrode arrays of > all three companies is negligible.
