Gratitude For Your Life In General

----------------------------------------------------------

Today is the day we in the United States traditionally pause to take stock of our blessings, to remember and give thanks. The first Americans to celebrate Thanksgiving were primarily thankful for their survival. They were pioneers in a new world and were daily faced with the harsh realities of life without any of the comforts of civilization.

Today, most of us are fairly confident or our survival from day to day. Our material "blessings" are orders of magnitude more abundant, in both quality and quantity, than those of the original Thanksgiving participants. Survival is no longer a big concern for most of us — we are, thankfully, fairly confident that there will be a meal on the table tomorrow, and the next day.

There's one blessing, though, that hasn't changed much in hundreds of years. And that is the blessing of community. All the other people in our lives. Life would be pretty meaningless without them. We could have all the material luxuries in the world, and most of them would be worthless without anyone to enjoy them with.

Beyond that, it is the other members of our community (and with the Internet, our definition of community is changing dramatically) that give life its variety and character. We all depend on each other for creating the stuff of life. Think of all the people whose efforts go into everything you have, everything that entertains you, everything that sustains you physically, everything that comforts you, all the art that appeals to your sense of beauty. Our strong community structure allows us each to specialize. Some of us work at putting food on the table, others work at putting roofs over our heads, others work to create beautiful art, others create words and pictures that make us think and grow, and still others build and maintain the machinery that moves our bodies, our things, and our ideas from place to place.

If each of us had to worry about growing and processing and cooking our food, and building our own shelter, and making the clothes to keep us warm, we would have time for little else. Participation in a dynamic community gives us each the opportunity to do what we do best. And that, in turn, benefits the community as a whole.

As great as our communities have been in the past, up until very recently they have been limited by physical location. For communities to form, intimate and continuing communication is needed among community members. For most of history, that has meant that communities are defined primarily by geographical location.

Quite obviously, the Internet is changing all that. This explosively growing worldwide communication system is a breeding ground for hyper-communities, entities that will bring the benefits of specialization to unimagined heights. At the core of all the hype and potential surrounding the Internet, is the driving force of a new breed of community. That is what makes it all so exciting.

When we think of all the wonderful things that the Internet is making possible, we need to remember that behind it all are people. Without each other, none of it would be worth anything. So when we give thanks today, let's don't forget to be thankful for each other. Our community, no matter how it is defined, gives us each the power and support to be the best that we can be. Cherishing Your Challenges & Challengers

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanksgiving is approaching: a time when we give thanks for food, friends, family and health. Have you noticed that we normally only give thanks for all the things that are going "right" in our lives? But, how often do we give thanks for absolutely EVERYTHING in our lives, even the situations that we deem "negative" or "bad?"

I am entering into this Thanksgiving with an attitude of gratitude not only for my successes, my friendships, my relationships, my health and the "things" in my life, but with thanks for those difficulties, those challenges that ended up being opportunities for new growth.

A thanks for those failed relationships that taught me true love. A thanks for those financial challenges that forced me to analyze my priorities. A thanks for those "brick walls" that I felt up against, that taught me how to climb. A thanks for those broken hearts, that opened me up inside. A thanks for those set-backs, that showed me that I was headed in the wrong direction. A thanks for those rejections that taught me self-worth. A thanks for those tears that showed how deeply I cared. A thanks for losses incurred, that taught me that I never really "had" anything. A thanks for the stress that told me to slow down. A thanks for that fear of the unknown, that taught me how to live in the moment. A thanks for the doubt, that brought me closer to God. A thanks for the "dark night of the soul" that showed me the truth of who I am beyond my experiences.

A thanks for the pain, that cracked me open. I am reminded of a quote that says, "what is death to the acorn, is birth to the Oak Tree." I know that beyond anything that we deem "negative," "bad," or "painful," that there is a "peace," an "opportunity," or a "blessing."

I give thanks for all the "experiences" of life that are a natural part of being in this human body, for they continue to show me the truth of who I am beyond name and form. I give thanks for endings, because I know that the ending of one thing, is the beginning of something else. I give thanks for all the "experiences" or "difficulties" in life that connect me with that unalterable, unshakable peace of God inherent within. I give thanks for absolutely EVERYTHING! Kindness Is The Greatest Way To Display Your Gratitude

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

…when you find yourself disheartened at the state of the world, our advice to you is to transcend this self-indulgence, to transcend the manipulation and sense of isolation that is being projected upon you, to transcend the group mind form. This is tricky business because you must find your own path into the joy of your heart, even in the midst of suffering that may be around you. There will be times in the coming years when spiritually sensitive individuals will feel the desire to give up. This is the time to re-inspire yourself, and how you do this is up to you, but we do have a few suggestions.

Turn your attention away from yourself and the problems to the world around you, to the earth underneath your feet, to your local community, to your friends, to the strangers who live around you, to your loved ones. Discover what you can do to make that world in which you live a better place. These things are very simple actually. It could be a smile, a comforting word, offering a space for a car making a turn in front of you; it could be offering food to someone who is hungry; it can be turning off your television mind control device, and playing with your children or your pets. It could be planting a tree. The list of opportunities to affect the world that is right around you is endless, and then you will find yourself re-connecting to your local community, even as the forces that would manipulate the world try to destroy it…

We also encourage you to live consciously in appreciation or gratitude, for the subtle harmonics created by these emotional states will act as protectors for you, and lift you up even if the world takes a downward spiral. Seize the moments of your life, even if your culture and your economies go through difficult times. Find the space within your self to detach and transcend what appears to be happening around you. Then you will, perhaps, have a most interesting experience. (The Hathors through Tom Kenyon) – www.tomkenyon.com

(1) Apply this "phrase of praise" to all the nouns you encounter throughout your day. Write it on a piece of paper & keep it where you'll repeatedly see it & it'll re-mind you to remember to "spend your days in praise." You will feel yourself filling up with the energy of gratitude as you consistently use this phrase throughout your day. Fill your nows with "wows" by routinely using this phrase of praise.

(2) Use this "phrase of praise" as a mantra in the "nows" throughout your day. Concentrate on your breath as you visualize filling up with the essence of this phrase and then breathe out and imagine releasing all that is NOT who you truly are – returning it to Source with gratitude, for all the lessons attained and the many strengths gained from the polarity initiation process of its passing presence as a chapter in your life. Now breathe in your next chapter, breathe in this "phrase of praise," turn the page and let it in.
