If the client doesn't start asking for a bathroom within five minutes they know they are dehydrated:-) Actually some muscle test or simply ask the person how much water they drink, or mention it when the appointment is made. I counsel everyone I discuss treatment with to get a regular medical and discuss the resulting numbers with their doctor and obtain a copy of the results. I have several medical practioners in my family who are up on the latest testing procedures. It is interesting to observe that the " normal " ranges for test results are often pretty broad these days, so if one tests results show you in the borderline " normal " range that probably puts you in the group where the risk factors are significant, particularly if they are age factored. The doctor may say " Oh your blood pressure is a bit high but pretty normal for your age group. " Do they mean normal or average? The average BP is on the high side to what it used to be.
