Yesterday was my official one month out. I have lost 28 pounds. The first 20

came off the first week, the second week I had no weight loss, third week was

3 pounds and the fourth was 5.

As some of you may remember I wasn't one of those lucky people who went out

shopping in the first few days after surgery. As a matter of fact it was more

like 6 days before I felt like I could go anywhere. When I did go out it was

only for 3 hours and I was ready to go home and nap. I know I didn't go into

the surgery thinking it would take me that long to feel good, but this is the

first surgery I have ever had (besides tonsils) so I don't think I realized

what it felt like to be operated on. I still don't think this is the worst

surgery (as far as pain) but I do want to stress to pre-op's that it is surgery

and you will feel weak and yucky for awhile. Please do not assume (as I did)

that you will be out and about right away. I can tell you that everyday you

will feel a little better and I now I feel as good (or better) than I felt

before the surgery.

I went back to work 10 days after surgery and only made it about 5 hours the

first few days, I was so tired by the time I got home all I wanted to do was

go to bed. (I do need to tell you I drive an hour each way to work and I am a

hair stylist so I was on my feet all day at work. If you add all that in I

did put in about an 8 hour work day) :)

I didn't have a real problem with nausea, I think I used 2 of the pills for

that in the last month. My stomach hurt for about 3 weeks, and every now and

then I still get a slight pain if I move the wrong way, but it isn't major. I

did have some old blood under 3 of my incisions which caused them to feel

like I had hard little balls under them, they didn't hurt (unless touched) but

they did cause my healing yellow bruises to turn back to the deep purple and

blue like they had started out right after surgery. I am assuming that is

because the blood was slowly draining from them, but I am not sure, If someone

knows and for sure why that happened and I am wrong, feel free to correct me. I

did get thrush and a yeast infection, but that was easily taken care of. The

strange part of that was I didn't get either of those until about 2 weeks

after surgery. Just when I thought the coast was clear! :)

Eating hasn't been a problem for me, all though I am taking it slow. I only

eat until I am satisfied, not full. The full feeling comes shortly afterwards.

There have been a few times I have wanted more to eat, but that's not

because I was hungry it was because it was tasted so good! LOL I just saved the

rest for later and was content with that.

Sorry this post is so long...I hope it helps some pre-ops!
