Hello! Off topic, but related to weight issues, I personally have

kept off approximately 75 pounds for 9 years(yes, NO weight gain in

9 years)with low-carb plus NATURAL food. As in organic, no

pesticides. I'd rather eat the bugs than the chemicals, LOL. I've

been doing low carb longer than anyone I know, and it works. I used

to be a size 20 and I now wear a 6 and that doesn't fluctuate. If I

had had EFT back then, I would certainly have tapped on those

cravings I used to get for noodles and sugary food, would have been

much easier. Weird thing is, I look about 10 years younger than my

age, comes up all the time, people just think I'm ALOT younger, it

actually startles them like they are seeing some kind of wonder. I

think it's because I haven't had sugar for years. So, if you eat

that junk and crave it, I'd tap on the cravings and also, I think

those foods actually contribute to PR on a cellular level, and also

that they affect the brain and DNA. I have other ideas on why we are

being fed this garbage and those ideas are very politically

incorrect, but for now, I really believe that these foods

contain " reversed " energy. And fast food, and boxed food,

artificial flavoring, coloring, preservatives-ditto. Just my

opinion for whatever it is worth, but there seems to be a connection

between these foods and energy patterns.

(Explanation of tapping procedure and why increased metabolism boosts

willingness to exercise, etc. follows)

Dear Gwenn,

I have tried this and it works! Got it off emofree site, I think.

Dropped it out and had not been using so thanks for the reminder and

the great explanation of the cause effect relationship between

metabolism and willingness to exercise with Wynonna Judd.

Some things I have noticed are: Less eating; more stamina if I go a

long time without eating (no blood sugar crashing?); lots more

exercising - easily, without pushing myself, etc. I think I have

dropped about about an inch in the waist.

I do a lot of other techniques for weight so I cannot be sure exactly

what one particular thing is doing but after I read your message, I

did the procedure and have had a couple of days with lots of

exercise, etc. I remember similar effects from before.

A question I have for you and anyone else: I also substitute in this

protocol for " Metabolism " and put in instead " Immune System " ,

or " Intuition " , or " Writing Inspiration " , plus some others. I have

not noticed as much of a result with the others. I don't do them all

at once but pick one, do the procedure and then later do a " round "

with some other item. Any thoughts?

Dwight

Hi,

I have been thinking a lot lately about our BELIEFS about food. One

law of the universe is that we get what we resist. I, for one, have

been told since I was young that sugar is bad for me. I try to

resist eating too much of it and yet it is what I want and I fight

with myself about eating it.

I just wonder and am going to experiment with this of tapping

on " even though sugar is bad for me .. even though I shouldn't eat

too much sugar .. even though sugar makes me sick ... as well as

with all the foods that are considered " bad " and " evil " - if this

could make a difference.

Well, please post your results with that. Thanks to my beliefs, I

have no food or weightloss issues to work on now that I have kept

off over 75 pounds for almost 10 years. And I AM proud! I was a

seriously fat woman and society is not all that nice to fat people,

whether that is good or bad I avoid the debate. As one who

experienced the way people generally regarded me when I was fat, I

have that right. I have other issues to work on, and, I suspect I

will be working on something or other forever...EFT is just too much

darn fun and I can imagine tapping one day because the only thing

left will be my regret at leaving this wonderful world to go on to

the next wonderful world. I know nothing of good and evil, truly,

I'm just going along on a journey and choosing " a " path, not " the "

path.

Wow, I'd say a " law " is a pretty strongly held belief? LOL. I think

of it as, " We get what we put our attention on. " Putting your

attention on what you do not want, will tend to draw that exact thing

toward you.

> I, for one, have been told since I was young that sugar is bad

First, think about that for a minute. The human body is hardwired to

desire sweet - it provides us with Vitamin C amongst other things -

it is something healthy and necessary for our survival. Simply

telling a child that " sugar is bad for you " is not very accurate.

Perhaps a better thing would be to imply that white sugar (i.e.

processed sugars) are not the best choice. What I'm getting at is

that just because you were told something as a child, does not make

that true for you today.

Many people say sugar is bad for you, and I like to think they mean

that white sugar and all it's variations is not the healthiest thing,

but it's not inheriently bad or good. Food just is.

> I try to resist eating too much of it and yet it is what I want

This brings us back to the idea that what you put your attention on,

is what you desire. Trying to resist something is like trying not to

think of that purple elephant. It is impossible to tell yourself you

will not think of something - the first thing that happens is your

brain keeps checking to see whether it's been thinking of it, and

voila, you're thinking of it.

Better to substitute something else. Instead of trying not to think

of one thing, choose something else to think about. Perhaps have a

piece of fruit (that's my choice anyway). Fruit is delicious,

naturally sun kissed sweet and wonderful, and chock-o-block full of

nutrients and fiber which your body needs (and wants). You may crave

fruit but think you are craving ice cream.

> I just wonder and am going to experiment with this of tapping

> on " even though sugar is bad for me ..

Perhaps change slightly to " Even though I believe sugar is bad for

me, " or " Even though I was told sugar is bad for me. "

> as well as with all the foods that are considered " bad "

> and " evil " - if this could make a difference.

Foods can't be evil, can they? They just sit there on the plate,

minding their own business. You decide whether to pop them in your

mouth. ;-)

Certainly it can make a difference, and no matter what you use for

your EFT statements, it will be helpful, IMO.

Keep a log book of your EFT sessions - Write out the basic theme,

such as " Sugar is Bad " and your starting SUD level. During the round

write down the shortened theme (bad), and then at the end your ending

SUD level. See what happens. Perhaps the words you use will change?

Perhaps you'll think of something as you are tapping, an idea

perhaps, a new belief forming perhaps? Keep these in mind, and jot

notes for future sessions. You'll get clues when you do the sessions,

and those clues may lead you to other areas to explore with EFT. It's

a way of being in the flow of the EFT.

This helps you to see how these things can change and evolve as your

new, more empowering beliefs begin to take shape.

Have fun with it,
