Guest guest
Not really better but I consider it the best way to start. I personally feel that the centers should have loaners for people who are just being activated so they can make more informed decisions. It just goes to prove how everyone is different. Guest guest
Yes.. it's very true that we all differer. The normal practice in my center is to start with the BWP to give the user an chance to try different maps and choose the one that works the best. I checked with them yesterday to see if I am to bring both processors (the BWP and the 3G) and was told that we would only map the Sprint on 4/12 and I will go back for the 3G mapping on 4/28. Experience has told me that dropping a map from the BWP to the 3G does not work for me so I will most likely be mapping all over again on the 28th., although who knows. This time transferring a new map could work. Every implant is different even with the same brand in an ear that has already been implanted so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I am glad that I'll start with the BWP. It never bothered me in the first place. It's quite small and not uncomfortable and I am prepared to wear it in the ususal spot which keeps it out of the way. I can't believe how I'm starting to feel about this date coming up. I have 12 days until the activation and my curiosity is getting the best of me. Having learned that it will sound different and that it's just a brand new implant, I am ready for another new adventure and you can bet I'll be sharing. Although I know that we may find that my physical condition may have caused the need for replacement and this may not work, I'm keeping a positive attitude but I believe I'll be a little nervous until the activation until we know for sure. No matter which type of processor you use and no matter how many times you do this, it's always exciting. I'm ready. Alice
Guest guest
Hi and Alice I guess I would advise those who get 2 processors to order a BTE and a BWP and then to start with the processor that they think they would like the best.Keep the other one sealed up in the box .If they like the one they start with then they can exchange the unopened one for another one that they like.If they don't like it then they can use the other.
