Guest guest
Hi again guys, Just letting you know what is happening with me since this is the first week after my attack. The pains i was getting in my stomich has settled now. I am still taking the 1 tsp olive oil (what is the best type i should use?) and the lemon juice three times a day as well as the tonic from the naturopath. My bowel movements have been regular 1 -2 times a day and they have been green in color is this normal?. Also i forgot to methion in my last email that i am a vegetarian. I will eat a bit of fish now and again thou. I am at the moment on the herbalife diet. (www.herbalife.com.au) I have been on this since the start of the new year and have so far lost 18 kilos. So my diet at the moment is morning : herbalife lunch main meal: rice and vegetables (no fat) afternoon: herbalife Late afternoon: 2 slices of toast with honey and if i feel hungry i will have some fruit or rice with brown sugar and skim milk. I didn't think of it before but is there anything i could be missing, not getting enough of to free me of the stones. As i said in my first flush i got out about 50 green stones. Due for my next flush next week. Kindest regards
Guest guest
You don't have to have cottage cheese in it. You can choose a differn't protein and just eat your fat free yogurt for your carb. I happen to love cottage cheese in my yogurt. Some days I eat them seperate, which would be another way you could eat it,if you hate them mixed. Sheryll N. > I feel like I am eating too much and need some help planning my day > of meals. Guest guest
I crave cereal sometimes, too. I will have a bowl of high fiber cereal, like grape nuts, with equal, skim milk, and my protein shake on the side. This seems to satisfy my crunchy/sweet cravings. Guest guest
Becky: I have a couple of comments/suggestions regarding your meals. First, what type of shakes and bars are you having as your first 2 meals? It is very important to know the nutritional content of each of those before we can really analyze the whole day. For instance, some bars have way too much sugar and not enough protein, while if the shakes and bars you are eting are truly " protein " bars and shakes as you stated, you will need to add a portion of carb to those meals (such as an apple). Second, your 4th meal of apples and peanut butter is not the best choice, as you could probably get more protein and less fat/calories if you selected a different, leaner protein (such as cottage cheese, chicken breast, tuna, turkey, etc.) Also, if you do end up adding a fruit to your protein shakes earlier in the day, you may want to pick a lower glycemic carb for this meal instead of more fruit, such as oatmeal or a sweet potato or brown rice. Third, you can definitely have cereal as your first meal instead of your bar--I eat a bowl of high fiber cereal (shredded wheat, or Go Lean, or Puffed Kashi) with a protein drink and a couple of berries every morning. It is quite filling, tastes good, and keeps me satisfied until my next meal (which is often protein pancakes or a Met-rx shake). It is almost always better to select a whole food rather than a supplement, so feel free to eat cereal or oatmeal in place of the bars and shakes! Also, while Bill does list " whole wheat " bread as an authorized food, but Hussman and many others advise choosing low glycemic carbs if your goal is fat loss, so an occasional sandwich is fine but maybe you should have some grains or brown rice or sweet potato as your midday carb more often. I am not sure what is in your turkey chili--is it a home made recipe? Are you using a prepackaged sauce that contains a lot of sugar? What kind of yogurt are you eating? How much fat and sugar is in it? You could have egg whites or a protein drink instead of cottage cheese if you don't like that, and you have high fiber cereal or oatmeal instead of the yogurt if you want. Good luck, Sherri > > I feel like I am eating too much and need some help planning my day > > of meals. Guest guest
Hey Staci- For your protien shake and protien bar are you adding a carb too? Like mixing some berries in your protien shake? The protien bar would need a carb with it too. The apples with PB need a protien. PB is considered a " good " fat, so you still need to add a protien to that. Um as for the turkey sandwhich it's good. But you need to add more veggies too. No wonder you're bored girl!!! Do you just hate cottage cheese? I found a recipe for some cottage cheese, where you add 1/2 c. of ALL-BRAN, some splenda and a tbsp. of sugar free strawberry preserves and cottage cheese. Its REALLY good. But I like cottage cheese. My husband gags when he sees me eating cottage cheese... LOL He hates it. But I think theres another thing you can do it it by mixing it with Jello? I think has posted it before. I'll see if I can find it for ya! Take care! ~kimmah Am I eating right? I feel like I am eating too much and need some help planning my day of meals. Here is an idea of what I eat in a day: 1st meal-protein shake 2nd meal-protein bar 3rd meal-turkey sandwich in whole wheat with ff mayo and lettuce 4th meal-apples with peanut butter, just enough for dipping 5th meal-bowl of turkey chili with brown rice 6th meal-yogurt with cottage cheese (which I hate!) I feel like this is a lot of food and I am getting bored with it. I am on day 5 and having major cravings for a bowl of cereal or something yummy. I would feel better if I could just have some yogurt with something else other than cottage cheese in it. Any suggestions would be helpful and the simplier the better. Thanks, ladies. Guest guest
I have found that being creative and flexible is key here. I only eat cottage cheese in the protein pancakes, which are FANTASTIC and guilt free....they account for both the carb & protien portion of a meal, why not have your yogurt and a couple of ounces of sliced turkey or chicken breast? How about throwing a boiled egg as a side with your yogurt or some other lean protien? Have you checked the bfl site for recipies? there are thousands of fantastic bfl ideas on there and some are really quite good and don't involve blandness.... Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Staci, I know what you mean about the amount of food. I really like to vary what I eat during the day so that I am not bored. Have you tried whole wheat tortillas, they're pretty good with some vegetarian fat free beans, or egg whites in a tortilla, there is also a wonderful hi-protein cereal called Back to Nature Hi-Protein that is awesome, coming from a person who used to eat Fruit Loops. Have you tried fat-free hot dogs and a whole wheat bun? or perhaps, plain oatmeal with some artificial sweetener along with some cottage cheese, most mornings I usually start off with some cottage cheese and some fruit, then a protein shake, then normally a turkey sandwich or grilled chicken sandwich at Carl's Jr.(when I am with kids). Then, if you haven't tried these protein bars, you really need to get your hands on some of these. They are called Detour Bars, they are " completely out of this world " they taste like a cross between Snickers Bars and Baby Ruth (REALLY). They have 32g protein and only 21g carbs. For dinner I just normally throw some grilled steak or chicken into a tortilla with some lettuce or tomato and end my day with a sm. protein shake made with water instead of milk. I have pretty good success so far. Hang in there! Diane C. > I feel like I am eating too much and need some help planning my day > of meals.
