Guest guest
Joanna: So good to hear of your visit to the "A" team and the Sweet Spot. I'm feeling good with all the baggy clothes in my closet. Down 35 pounds and still going. It isn't fast for a sedentary grammy with a dead thyroid and a desk job--but it's moving slowly to the onsies--only 5 more to go to get to that milestone! C in Tampa From: Joanna Abbott <joannaj_abbott@...>Reply- To: Subject: 3rd FillDate: Thu, 14 Jun 2007 18:41:13 -0700 (PDT) Just a note.... I had my 3rd fill from Dr. Campo on June 9, 2007 and I feel great. I think he was able to give me my "sweet spot". I have lost 4 lbs since the fill and I am not hungry! While down there, I asked if I could visit with some patients and was able to see two. One young lady and her beau was from Alaska! She was absolutely beautiful but a little uncomfortable from the gas. She was not walking so I encouraged her to walk, walk, walk! I also told her not to worry about wearing a bra home on the plane. Wear a comfortable big shirt instead. Can you imagine wearing an underwire all the way to Alaska after surgery?? It was wonderful seeing the Dr. A team again. It was like seeing family again. I just love them and my band. I had my band done on 11/06 and I am down 42lbs. My goal is 50# so I am close! To all you people considering the lapband.... DO IT! You will not regret it. I am grateful everyday that I was fortunate enough to learn of Dr. A. and his team. I am blessed! Joanna Abbott, San Diego DOB: 11/18/06 186/144/136 Moody friends. Drama queens. Your life? Guest guest
Hi Joanna, So great to see your post. I usually don't post, just read. I, too, am doing great. I have reached my goal and am now two pounds below. Can you believe it? Never, ever thought I would say that. This band is a Godsend and Dr. A and team are definately angels. Just wanted to say hi bandsister. Judi in Colorado > > Just a note.... I had my 3rd fill from Dr. Campo on June 9, 2007 and I feel great. I think he was able to give me my " sweet spot " . Guest guest
Cyrena: You are doing so well. The fluro is the key to "seeing and knowing" what restriction is there when we get a fill. As Dr. A told me on Saturday, it is not the numbers of the cc's, when you use fluro you can actually see the restriction. I just can't take a chance or gamble with the unknown. I have too many responsibilities and people who depend on me so I have to be at the top of my game every day. Feeling bad the few weeks I did this Fall, just reassured me that we are in good hands in Mexicali. I"m glad things are well with you and you are so successful! All the best! C Tampa From: cyrenaweeks@...Date: Tue, 18 Dec 2007 07:54:34 -0800Subject: 3rd fill So I had my 3rd fill on Tuesday in Mexicali. I have had 2 previous fills in North Dakota and I can say that I won't ever be back to my local Dr. for a fill - Mexicali is the ONLY place I will go. My first fill was completely painless, the surgeon did it in 2 seconds the standard 1cc fill and out the door. My second fill was from the "new girl" and it was horrible, I was telling her to please use a new needle each time she stuck me, 1/2 way through she had to numb the area I was so sore, she dug and dug and dug and finally found the port, it was scary. She also completely lied to me when I asked how she knew she wasn't hitting the tubing and she said the tubing is self-sealing and if she did hit it, it would "fix" itself, HA Wouldn't that be great. So this 3rd fill I was able to get back to the people we know and love in Mexicali. I again met great resistance from my family, but did what I knew to be best for me. Ernesto picked me up from the airport, it was just the two of us, I had a great ride to Mexicali. We arrived at Almatar about 1:15, by 1:30pm I was with Dr. Compos. Dr. Compos started to do fluro and said I had a nice fill, I agreed and that I was just looking for about .4 more. He laughed and said we were thinking the same thing. He put in .4 and said no, I'm going to do .3. I laughed and said "no .4" He then showed me the difference between .3 and .4 He explained that with .4 I would eating mostly liquids and PBing, .3 was perfect. So tell me folks if I had gone back to North Dakota and a nurse that doesn't use fluro, what would have stopped them from putting in .4??? NOTHING, I would have pushed for the .4 and been miserable and PBing and possibly causing more damage than good, then AFTER the holidays some time I would have gone back and gotten a lot more than .1 taken out to try and fix the horrible cycle our bodies get in when they aren't being feed properly. Nope, no one can tell me anymore that a fill w/out fluro is safe. I ran into Dr. A on the way out and he chatted with me for a minute. Everyone kept telling me how good I looked and asking about my success. Dr. A asked if he could have a before and after pic, I laughed and told him he even has before and afters of my scars on the group site I had a great ride back with and then off to my sisters in San Deigo. It was a great trip and I would and will do it again whenever the need arises.
