Guest guest
Hey Deborah, I always wondered after my 1st fill if I needed another. This is what I figured out for me. I try and eat more foods with heavier consistency, like meat. Bean are a little mushy and may not stay in the pouch as long, so I didn't feel as full and I was hungry all the time. If you are still having trouble with meat you still might have good restriction? I hope others on this site might have insight for you. Needing a fill is a very personal thing. We all eat differently and feel differently after we eat. I know I can eat a lot more when it is beans, etc. So, I stay with foods that I know will fill me up and keep me full for the longer periods if that makes sense? I probably confused you more. Good luck! Fill Question I had my first fill about 7 weeks ago. After my period I could only get liquids down. Now I am able to eat a plate full of beans, way over half a cup, my sweet cravings have come back and I am starting to thing of food all the time. Does this mean it it time for a fill? I still have a hard time with meat.Deborah F.
Guest guest
Thanks Dana, I can relate to your daughter. My first fill was 1.8 cc's and according to other posts that is a lot, however, there is not any significant restriction yet at morning or in the evening. My Dr. said she would like to wait at least 2 and preferrably 3 weeks between fills...so I will try for a little more soon. I appreciate the feedback though...it is very helpful. I was beginning to think I was a little crazy or something. I am so glad to hear you were able to find the right amount for you...I hope I can eventually do the same. Kim > > Hi Kim, My fill doctor request 4 weeks between most fills but will make exceptions. My daughter had her first fill Aug 30 and could eat a horse!!,I swear!! I gave up my fill appt for her to go back for " more " fill on Sept 13th and she STILL isn't there. She eats a little " less " , but still way too much!! She has 2cc and can still eat a whole burrito, whole chicken sandwich.ect....unbelievable to me, I " slime " just thinking about eating a whole anything! LOL...I only have 1.6cc (over the course of 3 fills) and had such restriction with the first soup & cracker were my staples for months!! The 3rd was done in Mexico with Fluro and kicked in about 10 days later and is still doing the job! If the weight loss stops, you can eat normal portions++ than talk to your fll doctor...don't want to waste time " idling " if you don't have to. Good luck....Dana > > --------- Fill Question > > > > > > > > I had my first fill ten days ago and have not felt any restriction > > yet. Guest guest
I was banded in May 06, lost about 15 lbs and had my first fill in Aug with about .75 cc's. That fill didn't work as I felt no real restriction and gained back most of what I had lost. On Friday I had my second fill (another .75 cc's for a total of 1.5)....and boy what a difference. Not sure if this is normal but I'm having a hard time getting anything down...even soft scrambled eggs hurt when they go down...its a feeling of being stuck...I'm actually kind of happy because I've already lost 6 pounds since Friday and I'm starting to think this time it will work...however, I'm feeling a little tired and I'm thinking its because I'm not getting enough nutrition. Will I loosen up a little? Also...when I've gotten stuck...I have to make myself throw up...its the only way I find relief....Plus a strange thing....when Im stuck that way...I get the hiccups....any words of wisdom from anyone? By the way...my fill this time was without fluoro.... Rosie Miami,Florida
Guest guest
i was banded in 05 and my band tends to loosen up in the evening times. i get the hiccupps too if i eat too much or if it gets stuck. i also have to make myself throw up to get relief. i dont know exactly what is doing it but i just wanted you to know that i have the same exact problem so you are not the only one with it. i have lost almost 60lbs since i had my surgery and am going for another fill tomorrow and hopefully this will be my last one. i am having a tummy tuck done next month so i am at about what weight i want to be. daisy rome, ga dob 6-13-06 260/206now
Guest guest
Word of advice....STAY AWAY FROM THE EGGS!! FAR FAR AWAY! I don't care if I never see another egg or perhaps even another live chicken because I know they lay eggs! And the Easter Bunny???? Well, that jerk is HISTORY around here! Eggs are EVIL I tell ya, EVIL!!! Jenni <roanch@...> wrote: I was banded in May 06, lost about 15 lbs and had my first fill in Aug with about .75 cc's. Guest guest
--- Lots and lots of people find eggs in any form hard to eat. Are you eating pea size bites? Restriction takes some ajustment. I like proggeso vegatable soup with added turkey bits, low in calories per serving and filling. Thats my first meal of the day at lunch. Sauces and soups help keep the food moist, which you can watch the calories becuse we can usually stop eating at the recommened serving size. Creep up to solids slowly, chewwww and I get the hiccups too and I never try to get rid of them, its my thought that they move the food around when its stuck. I know Im close to full when my nose starts to run thats my warning sign, full stop dead ahead!! its not always what my brain agrees with. Too much, not enough. but thats listening to the band. egg salad whipped, goes down nice with a pretzal or two. Best wishes for no barfing.
