Guest guest
Maybe I didn't say that right. They said they do not believe that bands which apply pressure (like the DOC band) to a baby's skull is the right therapy. They recommend the soft helmet to correct plagiocephaly. And they say this on their website. However, as you see on their website, they have a picture of a band which looks similar to the DOC band. When I asked about that band, they said it was a prototype and therefore unavailable. I forgot to ask the doctor why they had a prototype of a hard band when their philosophy is to not apply pressure. Maybe it works a different way. But I will definetly ask at Ben's follow up appointment in late August. I'll let you know what they say. They never said the DOC band was experimental, just that they did not recommend bands which apply pressure. > Great info - I hope it is an effective alternative. Why did the docs > think helmet therapy was experimental?? > Beck
