Hi Folks,

There have been a lot of questions about what a refurbished unit is.

Here's what I found out.

This topic has been brought up a lot recently, so hopefully this will

help

answer some of those concerns:

When a processor is reported faulty and sent back to Cochlear for repair,

the unit is taken apart and completely checked out. When the problem is

found, it is repaired under the strictest guidelines and fully tested

again. Any improvements made ot the overall technology are added at the

time of repair so the chance of a refurbished unit having " older

technology " than a new unit is slim. All of the casing is replaced on

each and every behind the ear processor and on the body worn if the case

looks

used. The new recipient of the processor is not wearing the same casing

as the previous owner.

In Denver we repair the Sprint, the Spectra, the Esprit 24 and Esprit 22.

The 3G is sent back to Sydney to be repaired. We anticipate being in a

position to repair the 3G in Denver in the near future.

The rate of failure on a refurbished unit is no higher than on a new

unit, so it really should not be an issue.

---------------

Hope this helps clarify things for everyone.

MOST of my high end appliances are refurbs, including my Vitamix. I actually

prefer them, since they are run down the production line TWICE as refurbs.

Refurb appliances are not necessarily returned items that were defective-they

are sometimes just open boxed items, demos, display models, etc. Our group

owner, Lea Ann, can set you up not only with a refurb, but can arrange a payment

option and free shipping! I am sure she will contact you offlist. You should

have no hesitation in buying a refurb, and I am sure you will be well pleased

with your purchase.

I received my reconditioned Vitamix a couple of days ago! The Vitamix looks brand new and works like a dream. Takes food preparation to the another level. I never buy reconditioned things but it was mentioned to me by a relative and after exploring the reconditioned blender, I went with it. Great customer service and it arrived in 9 days after ordering. I don't think mine was a demo, it must have been a return because it looks new. Great price and free shipping with promo code. My first vitamix (4000) was a refurbished.  Still worked 16 years

later when I traded it in for a 5200 refurbished.

Use the money saved to buy a cookbook or organic produce

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a vitamix...still trying to decide which one is best for us. When is it (or is it already) too late to purchase through your home party? Love the offer and payment option! Also, is there a big difference, besides the ounces, between the 32 & 48oz containers? I can still add an order to this party (the orders will be mailed out on Monday morning, so it would be great if I could get the order to day or tomorrow at the latest).Actually - if you could call me now, that would be awesome! :-)If you want to place an order for tonight's home party: 1) Look over the machines here: https://secure.vitamix.com/Vitamix-Machines.aspx NOTE - it will say online that the machines are out of stock. Forgot to answer your question about containers. The only major difference between the 32 and the 48 oz. is that the 48 oz fits over the 4 prongs of the base (just like the 64 oz. container) and the 32 oz. fits inside the 4 prongs. Personally, I prefer the 32 oz. / 64 oz. combo to the 48 oz. container. Big for when you need big, and small for when you need small! :-)

With this 'deal' is it still the case that one can still obtain the

trade-in paperwork? And does a machine traded in need to be working?

The machine traded in does not need to be working - but trade-ins apply only to

orders directly through Vitamix - not the Home Party program.

Reconditioned machines are on sale right now for $329 (5-year warranty) and $404

(8-year warranty). Only one of those options is available through the Home

Office right now (so only one of those two options is available for the trade-in

program at this time).

If you want to go this route, you can call Kilbane at 800-848-2649 ext

2305 and give her my code: 08-0009-000399 - you will get Free Shipping and if

you ask her, she will throw in a Free Set of Spatulas :-)

I received my refurbished unit and the unit was labeled CIA. Vitamix web site does acknowledge that the label may be different then the picture. My Vitamix looks like new and works perfect. This forum has helped me with gaining confidence and having some fun in experimenting with recipes.Sent from my iPhoneOn May 28, 2012, at 7:54 PM, Jan Connell <naj4650@...> wrote:

Hi,I questioned Vitamix when I didn't receive the container illustrated on the web page for reconditioned units. Then I went back to the reconditioned page for the 64 oz container and re-read the information and noticed this- Labels and grips on reconditioned units may vary My unit was a 5200c and the container came with a plain handle. I'm okay with the 5200c and they are sending me a soft grip container for customer satisfaction. I'm on the edge to buy a unit my one of my children and will buy a new one to ensure they receive the 5200. I'm afraid that with units sold on QVC will be returned and they might end up with one of the QVC models.
