Guest guest
Jen, For headaches caused by grinding and clenching my daughter has Botox injections in her jaw and gets considerable relief. I think your insurance will cover it if your doctor says it is not for cosmetic purposes. Sheila
Guest guest
I grind my teeth terribly - to the point of braking my molars before I was fitted with a mouth guard. You should try one. I longer have pain in my jaw or any headaches. Felice QUESTION - Suggestions Please...... Hello Group! I have a question that I hope someone can help me with.... Last night I started getting a headache. I decided to just go to bed to try to sleep it off. When I woke up in the morning, my head hurt worse. On occassion, I have a bad habit of grinding/clinching my teeth when I sleep which gives me tremendous headache. I was apparently grinding/clinching all night so the original headache coupled with the grinding.......made me feel like my head was a bubble that was about to pop all day. My hubby and I were cleaning in the garage today...and my sinus' started acting up....and you guessed it.....WORSE HEADACHE now. Even looking at my monitor right now is painful. I was planning on calling Dr.P tomorrow morning, but the pain is getting awful. I remember after surgery, we were given a " cocktail " of Benedryl and Sudafed. Does anyone know if we can take Sudafed for a sinus headache??? I know I should run it by Dr.P but it's late and that man needs his rest. I will call in the morning, but I just thought I'd check with you all to see if anyone has experienced severe sinus pain/headaches (possibly also from allergies) & what you did for the pain. Also...please note....I'm not being a baby. I generally can deal with headaches because I'm so used to them from the ridiculous grinding/clinching habit and allergies. Any suggestions with be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!! Thanks everyone, Jen Rock

Guest guest
To get rid of a sinus headache after MGB: Try any or all of these.... You can take benedryl or sudafed- be sure it isn't a combination that has NSAIDS in it. Use saline nasal spray- profusely! Spray spray spray to irrigate your sinuses. if the water is warm-- even better! Wet a tea towel and wring it out- microwave it until it is hot but won't scald- hold this across your eyes and re heat as necessary. You can also lie down with a heating pad across your eyes but the moist towel is better (for me) Eat egg rolls with a little chinese mustard! THAT will open your sinuses!! Good luck!! cs > > Hello Group! > > I have a question that I hope someone can help me with.... > Last night I started getting a headache. I decided to just go to bed > to try to sleep it off. Guest guest
While I agree that a mouthguard is a great tool for grinding and clenching, the problem for both my daughter and myself was finding it in the morning! We both regularly took them out in our sleep and frequently threw them! Sheila
Guest guest
If you are grinding your teeth regularly, I would suggest seeing a dentist about getting a mouthguard to wear to bed at night. They aren't particularly attractive, but they will prevent you from grinding. I had a good friend that was grinding her teeth and ended up with TMJ. She cracked a bunch of molars and had to have a lot of expensive work done, AND she had dreadful headaches. Don't let that happen to you! Joanie 5/25/04 Drs.
