Guest guest
Ok, this may sound like a stupid question, but I'm a little freaked out. Jack had his DOCband off from Saturday night (we finally painted it that night) and we were going to put it back on in the morning but he had a 101 fever, so we didn't. Well, he developed an upper respiratory illness and was miserable with a fever until yesterday morning, but we didn't put the band back on until last night. This morning when he woke up, one of his eyes (the left, on his " round " side) was noticeably smaller. It looks like his eyelid is a little puffy. Now I know my baby and this assymetry was not present until this morning. So my rationale side is saying it's related to his sickness and my unrationale side thinks he's developing assymetry. Could this be? His head is rounding so nicely, am I nuts? I haven't called my ped. about it, he's back in daycare today and they tell me he's fine and his eye isn't getting any puffier. We're going to CT for an adjustment this afternoon and then tomorrow we see our plastic surgeon for a follow-up visit. Has anyone noticed assymetry AFTER you started the band/helmet? Thanks- (Jack's mom, DOCbanded 5/16/01) Cheshire, CT
Guest guest
Hi ! This is not a stupid question, I would be freaked too. I have never experienced assymetry after starting witht he bands. Was there anything in Jack's crib that he might have hit himself with and thats what is causing the swelling? Or maybe the way the band was put on might have been smooshing his eye? Just trying to look for some possible nice causes ;o) Good luck and keep us updated! Niki Phila., PA > Ok, this may sound like a stupid question, but I'm a little freaked > out. Guest guest
Hi ! I haven't been posting here much any more, my daughter has been graduated for a few months. How ever when I read your post about your baby's eye being swollen I just had to post. My daughter Abigail had this happen to her several times while she had her band on sleeping. I think It just may be the way that they sleep. What ever position they get themselves into. Did the swelling go away my the next day? Abigail's always got better as the day progressed. Who knows why? Hopefully the swelling in the eyes have gotten better! Good luck! Amy & Abigail(graduated 5/2001)
Guest guest
When you say he has some correction to go do you mean he has to be banded again? > > > does anyone have experience with facial assyemetry that affects the eyes? > > > > > > > > >
