Guest guest
Hi all, Rather than trying to teach your dog sign language, it might be good to use the old " praise positive behavior " model of training. Every time your dog does his business where he is supposed to tell him, " Good Boy " or " Good Girl " immediately (reinforcement) . Then when you want to find out if he needs to go outside, you can say, " Do you want to go be a good boy? " They do make a connection between your words of praise and the act that made you praise them. As Pavlov knew and his dog learned, what gets rewarded gets done. Arnold doesn't as of yet have a good way of telling me accept when i find it in the middle of the night! This hasn't happened often though and i've discovered that if he gets to walk enough during the day to get things going, thayt we don't have problems and i also discovered they were on my days off when i wasn't as likely always to go somewhere/. ________________________________________________________________ Get your name as your email address. Guest guest
I've no doubt that is true, however, my comments were made concerning dogs and people dependent on sign language. The point being that dogs do learn sign.....even from " untrained " humans! --gayle > Hi all, > Rather than trying to teach your dog sign language, it might be good > to use the old " praise positive behavior " model of training.
