Guest guest
Someone may have already answered this question, but do all implant centers perform a prom stim test? Prom Stim test/ Jerome Jerome, Some people find it just a bit uncomfortable, while others find it more painful. According to my sister, she said it felt like a small pinch and that was it; small price to pay if it will help tell if the nerveis working soone can be implanted. Guest guest
Nope, in my case nope. They are only needed when you are total deaf. However I was told by Med-El office here that there are cases when people fail in Promontory Stimulation test and yet the cochlear implant works wonder after the implantation. Guest guest
Jerome, That's what I thought I remember reading but wasn't sure. Glad this is something I won't have to worry about. I can be quite a baby when it comes to pain. <smile> Prom Stim test/ Jerome Jerome, Some people find it just a bit uncomfortable, while others find it more painful. Guest guest
I also asked that to Med-El office, they told me, you have very good low frequency hearing, so that means your auditory nerves are good. You don't need the test. Regards/ Jerome Re: Prom Stim test/ Jerome Jerome, That's what I thought I remember reading but wasn't sure. Glad this is something I won't have to worry about.
