Guest guest
Hi Wayne, ' Try everything first, because the CI generally destroys any residual hearing you had. The Nucleus system has a built in telecoil that lets you get FM signals right in the processor. Great in " looped " situations, where the room has an FM loop, or a theatre, church, whatever. In addition to working like a charm on the phone. I had the gentymycin shots myself. Had no hearing to lose, so it wasn't a risk. Good luck with your hearing aid trials. Nucleus Volunteer Hi Thanks for your information .. but I opted not to have getimyacin and the doctor I seen gave me dexamethasone injections a steroid . The steroid shot would last from 6 weeks to 4 months and then really bring my hearing up from 30% the last time to 84% . If it would only last it would be a great thing but it is only a temporary fix. They are coming out with two power pack hearing aids with FM system built in I get to try them out in February ..for 4 weeks . so I guess we will see what happens...
