Guest guest
Hello everyone! I have been waiting patiently (?????) for my surgery ( I am in BC Canada)and on Tuesday i received an email from a friend who was implanted June '03. She told me that the clinic has been given additional funding for 65 implants (they are allowed 25 per year normally in this province). This is indeed a case of the govt. doing something right for a change! LOL She also told me that a woman in our area who was referred about the same time as me (Jan '04) had her surgery this past Monday! I am so excited but scared! Now that the time is near, I am having some second thoughts but I don't listen to them! So i hope they hurry up and give me a date..................I am shaking in my shoes here!! I am sure all of you who have been implanted felt the same ambivalence.........excitement yet trepidation. Keep your fingers crossed for me. waiting patiently????? in Canada
Guest guest
Hi - It's normal to have second thoughts - getting an implant is a scary idea! But it's worth it. I always felt that once I knew I was a candidate, if I wasn't implanted, I'd spend my life wondering " what if? " You will be fine! I can't wait to hear about your CI experiences. Your waiting will have been worth it! I'm so glad BC got more funding! Keep us posted! Lorie Clarion 1.2 5/96 NYC
Guest guest
Hi , Peace go with you! You will not regret the decision to go for the surgery. I was implanted 4 weeks ago and I can already tell you the benefits exceed the hearing aid I was wearing. Yes, I did have a bit of trepidation before the actual surgery date but I had spent so much time on this forum...asking quesions that I really had a great idea of what to expect. On my surgery date, I was cool, calm, and collected and everything went very well. Good Luck to you and hope you get your date scheduled really soon. --Gayle > Hello everyone! > I have been waiting patiently (?????) for my surgery ( I am in BC Canada)and
