Guest guest
Thanks for the info Sharon but I do not have " cut " anywhere. I have Outlook Express Ver.5.50. I have looked under all the settings and have highlighted and R-clicked, but no " cut " at all. I have tried before, highlighting and then DELETE but that has just deleted the whole message. I have gone to just using -post message and in the subject line putting what the mess. refers to. So for all you out there that don't have " cut " anywhere, just post a new message and don't just reply to a long message as we get too plugged up here. Cheers! =^..^=
Guest guest
I don't put anything extra in my posts. When I send it out it does not come back as such. I notice it has additional junk added to it. Only noted with this " group " ???
Guest guest
Sandy, Once you highlight it, the click on edit and cut should be in there. Guest guest
Hi RuthAnn: Try highlighting all that you want to get rid of and then hit the backspace button on your keyboard. That's how I do it and it works great and is easy. Guest guest
Here is a super easy way to trim posts. A guarenteed no fail method. First you go to reply, reply to sender or forward ect. The whole post will be shown. Put your cursor over the parts that you want to be removed and scroll down while holding down the left hand side of your mouse. Every thang will be highlighted in black with the writing in white. When you have everything that you want to cut out highlighted, just hit delete. It will remove what you don't want and keep in what was not highlighted. I removed everything from this post sfter I hit reply. Hopes this helps and is not so convusing. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, alternatively use keyboard commands. CTRL+c (ie hold down the control key and press C at the same time) copies, CTRL+v pastes, CTRL+x cuts. Guest guest
Raven, I just tried right clicking on my mouse, saw cut and delete. People could try that too. Highlight undesirable parts, right click, choose delete and its gone. Carol A2
Guest guest
Re: RE: Trimming posts > Here is a super easy way to trim posts--from Raven OK, now I will test this out and see if it works. When I click on " reply " , there is no text showing there to edit--just a blank message box. So I have gone to " forward " --then had to go to " tools " , " select recipient " , and D/click on the toiletries address, as there is no address showing in the " forward message box " . If this goes thru' it may be of help to some of you others that are having the same problem I have been having. Sandy =^..^= Go get-um!! Guest guest
Here ye, Here ye!! I am also struggling with having to scroll through so many long messages of repeated text. Please, PLEASE, try to remember to trim your posts so only the specific text you are replying to is included in your message. It makes a HUGE difference to those of us who receive this in digest form. Thanks! -38 3/9/04 Dr. Bonanni >Okay, I know this group is free-wheeling, but it is getting to be a >pain to scroll through all of these untrimmed messages. Guest guest
Hi Barbara! Glad to see you posting & to know that you're keeping our group! Thank you for the reminder about trimming posts when responding too. Folks, we've got lots of people on digest & it is a royal pain to have to weed thru all the extra " stuff " that doesn't pertain to messages. Our messages also have lots of " info " tacked onto the ends of them. If you don't delete that stuff, folks on digest can get what seems like 10 pages of messages. So, please, please, please, remember to trim away the extra stuff that doesn't pertain to what you're responding to. Thank you!!! Guest guest
THANK YOU, Diane! I was getting ready to rip my hair out with this new set up! LOL I might add, it looks like you have to do this for every group you're on (manually change the setting). Kay Trimming posts Hi - this just came through on another list. I think we should all complain to but in the meantime try this: For those of you who do not like the current changes to the following appears to be the answer Go to the homepage of each of your groups. Click on Edit membership. (Its up the top where your email address is) Then scroll all the way down and check TRADITIONAL. Voila! Everything will go back to normal. I tried it. It does work. Please pass the solution around. I have just changed but haven't received any messages yet to know if it works! Guest guest
Yes I think so - have to do it for all of your groups. Although somehow I was just able to trim this post! If you click in the text box once (sot that it gets that square around it) and then click inside that box again I was able to select and delete text - not sure exactly how I did it though! Guest guest
Oh good- thanks!! I did already complain- there was a spot to click on the right hand side of our messages here if you receive them individually the " new " way. Something about giving your feedback... Guest guest
I have been able to trim mine, too, but it's a pain in the neck. If you don't hit the right area just so, it doesn't work. So, I've just said the heck with trimming! Hopefully they'll switch everyone back eventually. Why does have to always meddle? If it's not broken, why fix it???
