Guest guest
PB'ng, or Positive Burping, is the experience of burping up food that is completely undigested. It's not like vomiting, it's more like the food is just sort of hanging in your esophagus and you burp it out. Not a pleasant experience, but not nearly as unpleasant as vomiting. My 6 year old refers to PB'ng as " yaking " , or if used in a sentence this would be... " Hey, Dad, Mom ate the salad too fast and she's gonna yak again " . Sliming, which in my own experience is MUCH nastier, is when undigested food, stuck above the pouch of your band, causes your digestive system to create massive quantities of thick slimy saliva in an attempt to slide the food down. This uually involves lots of interesting movements on the part of the slimee, such as bending or wiggling to try to help it on it's way, and with luck, to proceed to the PB stage.... I find it best to slime over the sink, as no matter how absorbent my brand name paper towels claim to be, they cannot handle the slime created by a bite of brocolli that hasn't been adequately chewed. I've approached Bounty about this, but haven't had a response yet. (grin) I also find that sliming over the kitchen sink works best for me, as it does not require the bending in half postion that the traditiona vomiting into the toilet pose requires. For some reason, bending completely in half at the waist just prolonges the sliming process for me, whereas standing mostly upright aids in moving quickly from sliming to PB ing. Just my personal experience Eat slower, chew until you think your jaws ache and then chew some more, and this decreases both the PB and sliming occurence. (Ok, I have to admit that there is no way during a 5 minute lunch break grabbed on duty to chew enough to avoid these instances. I am fortunate in that all of my coworkers have become used to me dashing from the break table in our very small nurses lounge at lunch time, and over the holidays, I had the pleasure of hearing our head psychiatrist explainiing to one of the magistrates, present for a commmittment hearing, that " no, 's not sick, she just should stick to soup for lunch when she's trying to do 3 things at once..... " Ahhh, the support that is offered in the inpatient psychiatric hospital P > > I have no idea what these things are but would love some information > please. > > Can anyone fill me in on the seattle bandster bash? >

This is soooo true! I swear I think it should be considered part of our work outs! You are moving every muscle in your body, you are working the muscles, and I'm thinking the exercise is worth at least a value of 400 calories. The heck with running, it's COLD outside. Just slime a bit and you'll get your work out for the day. Anyone else notice that it is louder to slime and barf than it used to be just hurling the old way? Or have I not yet learned the art of quiet barfing? I do have a question. If you have to hurl the old way (from your big stomach) how does that work? That has to be louder, more painful, and even more gross.
