Hi , I'm in the Baltimore area...we will have to meet up one day! I'll get Betty (my band buddy) and meet you for lunch somewhere??. We work in Ellicott City...not to far to DC if we take 29. So any day could work. Let me know...

About the food....WOW...I so know what you mean! I was throwing away so much stuff that would never had lasted a day before me & my daughter were banded!! My poor husband & son ate the same left-overs for days!! I did get a great christmas gift to help with this....Seal-a-meal!! It's great!

I have enough lasagna, kiesh, ka-bobs, meat-loaf, you name it.. even soups in our spare freezer to last for months!!

I never got out of the habit of cooking for 4 adults and that leaves lots of leftovers. With that seal a meal...It's dinner for another night. If it's not eaten by the 3rd day..in the bag it goes sealed-up tight!

Same at my house with the goodies too. My husband had a b-day Feb 8th. I made him a lemon bundt cake. The (1st) cake had 2 pieces eaten..my parents were over..and then my DOG jumped up to the counter and was able to pull the plate to the edge & eat 90% of it, and my cat the other 10% before getting "caught in the act" by my hubby! He calls to tell me about it and says "you need to make another one, I didn't even get a piece!" So...I make another one. Each of us had a small piece to celebrate with him. The days go by and I notice another piece or two gone..hubby. Well, this past Sat the 17th! I finally threw away nearly 1/2 a cake! Never have I thrown out cake! Just goes to show who were the cake fans..me & Jacqui, but not anymore!! It's great to have control of the compulsive, mindless eating that we had been doing for years!! I Love my band! And I have no problem throwing away food anymore!!lol...

Hey all,I'm in the Washington D.C. area and our ice is finally melting. Last week it was me, the 3 kids, and 2 labs - schools were cancelled and it was COLD but the sledding was good. It was hard not to munch munch munch the days through. I did OK but my weight held steady. This week, the temperature is up and so is my diet.Anyway, over the past few weeks I've noticed a few things, like food generally lasts longer in my house. For example, last week my daughter made TollHouse cookies, today I threw more than half of them away because they had gotten stale. Before my band that was unheard of those cookies wouldn't have lasted a day much less a week. And you know what else? I totally would have said that "the kids" were the ones that couldn't keep their hands off the cookies. LOLThe same thing happened at Halloween. I had a ton of candy leftover and I let it sit for about 1 month.Every week during that time I'd say to my kids, "I'm not kidding, I'm throwing this candy away on XX day so take what you want". Well, they were totally OK with me throwing the candy away. They did not have a problem with that at all but I did. It took me about 4 weeks to get the gumption up to toss that stupid Halloween candy that no one was eating.I just bought some Girl Scout cookies -- 4 boxes -- and only one has been opened. I got them on Sunday. Typically, "we'd (guess I should really say I'd)" be finished with all of them by now. Now don't get me wrong, my band loves Samoas, they are one of the few cookies I can eat. But now I eat 1 (MAYBE 2) occasionnally instead of a whole box in a day.All that to say WOW I was in great denial about how much I was eating. I'd grab handfuls of cookies and blame the kids for eating them all. In the past few months I am even have an easier time throwing food away. It is just food after all and I NEVER thought

I'd hear myself say that!~~DOB: 10/6/2006246/208/145

Hi . :-) It is so great that you are having that kind of

resolve. that trully is your own strength, because sweets are still

unsafe in my home!! :-) As a matter of fact they are one of the

things that go down really nicely. so they just are not safe around

me. during the holidays I discovered how nicely sugar cookies went

down the ole hatch. so I have to now really watch what is in my

house. Because if it is around, I will eat it! :-) well I do have

some recees peanut butter cups that are still stashed, but that is

only because my band is so tight right now, I dont want to waste my

calories on them. But if I was looser they would not be safe. hee

hee :-)

keep up the good work!

hugs,

, I pretty much don't feel " safe " eating anything with flour in

them -- too much like bread, bread causes pain, pain not good. I can't

do peanut butter either INCLUDING Reese's cups, because I have tried,

oh yes, I have tried. My band does like regular milk chocolate and the

Lindt truffles but the aren't really a big temptation for me anymore. I

got a big of my favorite truffles for V-Day. The bag is open and on my

dresser. I've had 1 or 2 (don't even remember) but I am not even

thinking about them. THIS is a new experience for me. Normally I would

be obsessed with them and would have eaten them all in a day.

I don't know what's different? Maybe, I'm not hungry and not craving

anything -- I'm satisfied and not looking for anything. I'm also

pleased with my loss and how I'm starting to look. I know there's a

waist on my body somewhere and I am determined to find it -- LOL.

Dana I'd love to meet up with you for lunch. I'm south of D.C. in

Fairfax County but still close enough to meet up with a bandster bud.

Do you go to Dr. Brinkley for your fills? Maybe we could convince the

wise and witty to join us. I believe she's in the Reston /

Loudon area.

Maybe toward the end of March?

Let me know.

That sounds GREAT!! What will work best for you..week-end, weekday? I'll take a day off if ya want..hehe SUSAN?, think you can squeeze us in? It'll be fun! I think we all go to Dr. Brinkley..I don't know any other fill Dr's except in Baltimore that will only do"their" own patients! But she does fine and has helped me out in my "time of need"! (emergency unfill!!) I love her for that! Pick a day that will work for you & ? and Betty & I will "adjust" our schedules to match ( we both do home health care and can be flexible when needed ;-) Dana

I'd LOVe the opportunity to get together with my fellow Northen

VA/land/DC area bandsters. I read and re-read all of the posts

about the Seattle bash, REALLLLLY wishing that I could have been

there, and was wondering when we can have a similar event for those

of us who live on the eastern coast. ( ly, I vote for having an

official event at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel- the idea of

staring at myself in the shiny brass walls of the elevators without

wishing there was a larger potted plant to hide my reflection behind

REALLY appeals to me!)

Barring that, I'd love to get together in a smaller group. My work

schedule is kind of crazy, but with enough prep and planning time I

could probably find a way to make myself available.
