Guest guest
I just got back from UMass Worcester after spending the morning with tests. The last two months have been eye opening with this CI education. I have been reading all posts, and now know what numbers mean that people have been mentioning. I found out I have 1% single word recognition with Ha's, LOL I am that bad? I thought only other people are that bad not me <grin>. Now if 50% word recognition qualifies for candidate, and after all this loss to 1% it amazes me that after seeing all these HA audioligists and buying a new set of aids each time,I had to find out about CIs through my primary care physician. Amazing isn't it? There is only one conclusion and not in my best interests only theirs. Well I can safely say I am now a full fledged CI candidate, and on a fast track to get this done. I want to mention special thanks to Alice, Silly , Dora, Snoopy,Stargazzernite. And the special people I have met on the nightly chats, come on Dixie we are on the same schedule I'll race you for a surgery date Thanks again to all of you, I can't possibly do justice because there are so many wonderful people here and people that wrote me e mails with info. Take care and God bless................................ L. in RI
Guest guest
.. I had very little doubt that you were a candidate and now I'm thrilled to read this message because you are going forward with steps that will bring you so much joy. No thanks are ever necessary. Helping people with hearing loss is my way of thanks for the miracle that I've enjoyed in my life with the cochlear implant. It won't be too long before you are saying the very same thing. Looking forward to hearing more from you as this process progresses. Alice one more step I just got back from UMass Worcester after spending the morning with tests.
